Art Showcase from RC Autumn Term of Students work
This term saw the return of our face-to-face Art & Craft course. We have run this successfully online for two terms, but we were really pleased to make the transition back to being together in person, in small numbers at the Recovery College. We aim to make this group mindful by creating an artistic community and connecting students after periods of isolation. As well as exploring different creative mediums such as drawing, still life, crafting, painting and collage, we also use breathing techniques and music for relaxation and to encourage creativity. Why not grab yourself a nice cuppa and watch our relaxing two minute video gallery below, which showcases a sample of some of the work created by students this term. We are pleased to announce will be running this group again next term. All materials are provided in the classroom. If you would like to get involved, look out for our prospectus launching late December for our Spring Term starting on January 31st. Quotes form our students: “Kick-started Creativity that lay dormant. Interesting techniques demonstrated and materials I haven’t used for a long time.” Thank you so much for a great course I really appreciate all the open minded advice and positivity. Also of other group members and staff. It’s been great. “I thoroughly enjoyed the Art and Craft course led by Beki and Moose. It helped ease some of my everyday anxiety and it has encouraged me to do art and craft activities by myself. Beki and Moose were fantastic peer trainers who made me feel comfortable and safe. I felt encouraged by their support and positive language. COVID safety precautions were put in place which meant I felt protected and was able to attend face to face. I found being able to go to Frederick House in person very beneficial and it has helped me gain confidence post COVID lockdowns. I am grateful to all those that help run the Recovery College and feel it has been very beneficial in managing my mental health conditions

We wanted to share a sample of some of the artwork created by the extremely talented and inspirational students from the Autumn Term Art and Craft class. The Art and Craft course will also be running as part of our Spring Term and we'd love you to come and join us for this and much more. Enrolment closes a week today, on Friday 29th January.
