Apologies to all for our lack of hot food offerings over the last few weeks. We will have a basic toastie menu up later this week and our usual cold food and snack options but, due to various factors, we are unlikely to be offering Pizza anytime soon 😢

Now even with the yummy offerings we will have we understand this may not be enough of a choice for everyone. So with that in mind we will be trialling a service charge for people to bring in their own hot food starting this evening!

The service charge will be £3.50 per person and is for HOT FOOD only. Any cold food, soft drinks or alcohol will need to be purchased at the cafe as usual.

Please keep in mind that the revenue from the cafe is fundamental in keeping Dice Saloon open so if there is a large increase in people using this trial as an excuse to bring in outside cold food and drinks it will have to be scrapped quickly.

A big shout out to our lovely community and staff for all their patience and support and making Dice Saloon the great place it is.

We have found our new Head Chef! This means hot food is back every weekday evening and on the weekends. Expect an updated menu and some new specials in the near future 🥳🍕🥪

Hi all

Whilst we are recruiting for a new head chef our kitchen hours will be reduced. This means we will only be serving hot food at the following times:

Wednesday & Thursday 6pm - 8pm
Friday 12pm -5pm & 6.30pm-8.30pm
Saturday 12pm-7.30pm
Sunday 12pm - 4pm

Don't worry we will still have plenty of cold snacks and treats throughout the week.

GREETINGS FELLOW PIZZA ENJOYERS.

It's been about six weeks since I last went up to a field to perform acts of unimaginable violence in a field. As we all, know if my bloodlust isn't regularly sated I become what is known as a "managerial issue", so they're sending me away again.

There'll be no pizza from Thursday until I return on the Wednesday after. This does also mean that I'm dropping Mondays as well, until I can get another chef in the kitchen to help me out.

If you know someone who might be good at throwing dough around the kitchen, let them know, eh?

So this weekend, you may not enjoy my pizzas. But to will when I'm back on the 2nd of August.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to assist the head chef operate the saloon’s kitchen.

The position is currently 2-3 short shifts a week, with the potential to increase with shop custom. The candidate should be able to cover scheduled holiday, and ideally be flexible enough to cover illness.

Culinary experience is preferred, but not necessary as full training will be provided.
Duties to include running service, keeping the kitchen clean, communicating with the head chef, and filling all relevant paperwork.

GREETINGS PIZZA ENJOYERS. Back at it again with the PIZZA PROFILES, so let's get into it. This time I'm highlighting the Santorini.
A great little game for 2-4 players. Think ahead and trap your opponents pieces as you build a tower to confront the gods of Olympus themselves. Then, add the gods to the game for alternate moves and win conditions!
Oh the pizza is pretty nice too, fresh and zingy with feta and rocket, perfect for the summer.

I didn't forget about the PIZZA PROFILES. Honest.
Regardless, I'm here to talk to you about Urza's Saag. Potentially the best pun I'll ever come up with. Veggie friendly, there's a sweet aromatic heat from the tikka spices, with the dry lingering heat of the chilli flakes giving this pie a lovely zing. One could even ask for extra sauce if they were so inclined and wanted to experience curry on pizza.

It's a goodun, I like it, please enjoy it.

Our junior chef is moving on to greener pastures, so as a result we're moving back to No Pizza Tuesdays, and potential weekend gaps where my holidays lie. Not to worry since we expect to resolve the issue soon.

GREETINGS BANK HOLIDAY ENJOYERS.

How is it that we get like four (4) of these in a row round this time and then nothing for the rest of the year? Make it make sense.

No difference to me, regardless, I'm in deep on that hospitality lifestyle. So come in on Monday, 12 to 4, play some games, take a load off, and as ever, enjoy my pizzas.

GREETINGS FELLOW PIZZA ENJOYERS.
I come bearing patch notes!

I've been tinkering and fiddling with the main menu for a while, and the new edition is ready to fire. The changes aren't sweeping, so I'll list them here for your convenience

- Vengevine and Photosynthesis have been diversified. The Vengevine boasts a deeper, more savoury profile. The Photosynthesis now has a brighter, sweeter arrangement of flavours.
- Tikka to Ride added to main menu. Because you loved it. And so do I.
- Mushrooms added to Swamp Thing. How did the Swamp pizza not have mushrooms for this long? We'll never know.
- General readability and quality of life tweaks. The menu reads a bit clearer, a bit more understandable. There's enough confusion in the world today, and I don't need any of it on my menu.

So there you are. Slice Reboot.

Sunday brings us to our last PIZZA PROFILE of the weekend, the Royale With Cheese.

Whether you're pining for a European visit, a sensual footrub, or whatever the hell was in that briefcase, the Royale is for you. A very rich pie, thanks to the beef and extra cheese, that mouthfeel is cut through by the sharpness of onion, and acidity in the gherkins for a strong but balanced palette.

So ditch off the Big Kahuna Burger, come down to Dice and get that real gourmet s**t.

PIZZA PROFILE time. This time we're looking at the WingSpam a pizza that started life mostly as a pun (like the rest of them) but has grown to be in my top3 on the menu.

I'm genuinely going to sound like an internet recipe page story here, but it's a true story and I have no shame so here we go. When I was.. 10? The family went out to an Italian restaurant, but due to health concerns I was only allowed to order from the pasta menu. Obviously this was a grave violation of my completely imagined right to pizza, so a compromise was struck. I could have pizza but it had to be healthy, so at the tender age of 10 I was noshing on pizza florentine, with spinach and egg. Reader, that pizza banged out loud. So here I am, ????? years later, butchering that classic to satisfy my hunger for puns (and delicious pizza).

Please enjoy the wingspam, it goes haam. It also has ham, so it goes.. a*(ham)^2?? Maths types please chime in.

As promised I'm back with another set of PIZZA PROFILES for my newest set of specials, kicking off with the Sweet and Salty.

Based on the Merc With A Mouth's favourite, a pizza that will lose you any Italian friends who see you order it. On the other hand, these toppings bring a unique flavour combination for the enterprising pizza connoisseur, looking for something out of the ordinary.

GREETINGS FELLOW PIZZA ENJOYERS.

I have heard you loud and clear. You love the Stompy, the Agricola, and the Tikka. But now, these noble beasts must step aside to make room for the next batch of specials. Fear not, however. At least one of these mighty concoctions will be heading to the main menu soon!

In the meantime, you will gain access to the next batch of specials, premiering tomorrow, and available for two weeks. I'm certain you'll enjoy them.

Whilst I'm posting, I'd also like to say how heartening the response to the return of the kitchen has been. All the feedback has been wildly positive, even when it's just catching people's eye as they drop off a plate and sharing a quick smile and thumbs-up. It really does fill me with enthusiasm for the future and fuel the ideas for me to serve up in the saloon.

That said, I'll catch you all next weekend for another round of PIZZA PROFILES!

Time for our last PIZZA PROFILE of this menu, and my personal favourite of the bunch, the Tikka to Ride. (Shoutout to Rob for the excellent name)

The Ride is spicy, but not how you'd expect. The tandoori seasoning on the chicken makes it aromatic and almost fruity in aroma, which is complimented by the tang of the jalapeños. Onions and peppers provide a similarly bright sensation which primes the mouth for the real star of this pie. The steady, encroaching, dry heat from the chilli flakes. It's a real banger and my favourite of the bunch. There is no boardgame joke to sign off here, since I've never played Ticket.

What's up y'all, it's time for another PIZZA PROFILE. This time featuring the Agricola (do people know about the boardgame Agricola? Does that joke land?)

Anyway. The Agri is a great choice for a balanced pie without too much spice. A distinct farmhouse style, you've got juicy chicken and sweetcorn complimented by flavoursome ham, onion, and spinach. Everything you need for a hard day's work assigning meeple and cursing your opponent when they score the pigs, Again.
