Mesa Catering's very own Faye volunterring weekly for our charity partner FareShare South West.

For every wedding or event we, with the help of our clients, donate enough for one meal per person at the event. So far we have donated 15,885 meals! 😁

This incredible dummy cake was created by one of our lovely brides Georgie. It looked so good you would never know!

We went to see the amazing team at FareShare South West today! 💛

FareShare work with charities throughout the UK to fight hunger and tackle food waste by redistributing surplus food and providing meals for those in need. This includes children breakfast clubs, homeless charities, elderly, family support networks.

We donate 12.5p per guest at every event we do and offer our clients the option to match this donation. Just 25p is enough for FareShare to provide one meal, so a £25 donation based on 100 guests would equate to 100 meals distributed to those in need.

This year so far we have donated the equivalent of 2254 meals, with hopefully more to come before the year end 💛

We love seeing how creative our clients are every week. Everyone has a unique idea of how to use the space and come up with something fab ⭐️

An absolutely GORGEOUS day yesterday at Genna & George’s wedding at Oxleaze Barn.

Everything was perfect, from the fabulous mantelpiece arrangement by to the unique floral centrepieces made by a family member.

Mesa is looking for an experienced Event Chef to work alongside our dedicated events team in 2021. The role is responsible for ensuring a high level of food preparation, service and customer care. The Event Chef will be involved in setting up events, prepping, cooking and serving whilst living the companies values of delivering outstanding events and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have Event Chef experience, ideally within the wedding industry. However, we do offer training programmes for those with less experience. The candidate will be happy to work some unsociable hours and weekday daytimes for loading and prep. Good communication skills are essential, along with a professional and friendly outlook. This is a customer facing role.

This role is based in Bristol city centre, but you will be expected to travel to and from events regularly.

Key areas of responsibility
- Consistently serving a high-quality product to clients
- Delivering a high level of service within a team (1-8 staff) to the client’s specification
- Managing your own time and ensuring food is well presented and served on time at events
- Support colleagues and go the extra mile for them and Pieminister where required.
- Assist your manager in any problem solving required
- Risk management on site – ensuring that you adhere to health and safety protocols as per training and management instruction
- Responsible for ensuring that paperwork such as temperature records are completed to a high standard.
- Loading and unloading for events

Essential experience:
- Some cooking/cheffing experience
- Clear communication skills
- Be able to think on your feet
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to think outside the box
- Great customer service
- Flexible working hours, mostly Fridays and weekend work
- Strong all round communicator – highly organised, ambitious, enthusiastic, and driven.

Desirable (non-essential):
- Food safety level 1 or 2
- Clean full Uk driving license with at least 5 years driving experience

The Package:
- £9.00 – £12.00 per hour based on experience (opportunity to move up the pay scale)
- During peak event season expect roughly between 12-30 hours across the weekends where you are booked onto an event
- 0 Hour contract – mostly weekend seasonal work
- Clear path for remuneration increases
- Lunch on us every Friday if working
- Invite to annual events
- Continuous training and development to grow within the world of events
