Needless to say that there will be no Cineme Shorts this month. In October, we screened Geoff Harmer's Dead Air. A couple of years ago, Cineme screened Geoff's earlier spooky short, Selfie, which is definitely worth checking out (https://vimeo.com/114165293). Cineme Shorts September 2020 An evening of wonderfully eclectic short films

Pleased to announce three short films screening at the CineMe Shorts relaunch on September 21st.

We have Rob Ayling's short Living in Crime Alley - A Batman Fan Film, which has won lots of acclaim and festival awards. Sarah Mallabar's fantasy drama Dr. Sugarloaf and James Peaty's Testimony.

CineMe Shorts takes place on Monday, September 21st (19:30pm), at Totos By The River Bristol.

How will cinemas reopen, and what can you see? Cinemas in England can reopen from 4 July, but many will not be ready to do so by that date.

Former CineMe member Kirk Stacey has drawn a brilliant artwork of the great American director Stanley Kubrick, who directed some of cinemas finest creations. Paths of Glory, Lo**ta, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon and The Shining.

Director David Lynch launches his latest short film ‘Fire’ (Pozar), on his David Lynch Theatre YouTube channel.

This 10 minute animated short has been in the works since 2015, but was published on his YouTube channel on May 20th.

This is a must for any serious film collector!

The Criterion Collection have released a compilation of early short films made by director Martin Scorsese.

This collection of shorts is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and is released on May 26th.

The set is called Scorsese Shorts and includes five shorts made in New York in the 1960s and 70s. The films included are: Italianamerican, American Boy, The Big Shave, What’s a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? and finally, It’s Not Just You, Murray!

I wasn’t a huge fan of the recent Disney Star Wars Trilogy and had reservations about this new series.

Creator Jon Favreau has done a very fine job creating The Mandalorian, which is now streaming on Disney+.

Each episode is 30 minutes duration and looks at a lone bounty hunter travelling the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Fence is set in the early 1980s and is about a young working class boy, whose motorcycle is stolen on the day he buys it. He and his friends try to retrieve the bike from an unknown fence!

From Lo**ta to his final work Eyes Wide Shut - This is a really impressive CV and certainly confirms Kubrick as one of America’s most gifted filmmakers.

2001: A Space Odyssey and Barry Lyndon are my favourites, but I am also a huge admirer of A Clockwork Orange.
