We are back from holidays this week and have a diary full of people to help with various issues of back pain management and prevention.
We have had muscle spasms and twinges from gardening and stiff backs from the long holiday drives. Some massage before the holiday and of course the total body strength for those being more active 👌

It’s that time of year again. This is when I realise that sitting down all day gives you a sore bum and back ache ….
This week at the studio we have been helping people build healthy backs for different reasons.
We helped a lady walk 26 miles. Over the past few months we helped a gentleman prepare and over come back pain and go onto Trek to K2 base camp. We also helped a nurse out with tension in her back and neck with sports massage.

Quick Fix ! I have had a few enquiries asking for a quick fit to back pain. There is no quick fix. There are relieving methods for acute pain but to really rehabilitate and move forward it takes time and effort from you but we can help you get there. -pain

Massage techniques are another part of our rehabilitation programs. Used to help release tension and free up joint movements and muscle spasms.
Most back pain is related to muscular strength. Muscles become weak from inactivity! Weakness leads to pain!
We aim to build a healthy strong and mobile back. A strong back is a healthy back ! 😃
STRETCH - is another component of our rehabilitation programs. Muscles become tight and shorten from exercise but also from prolonged positions such as sitting. Hamstrings, hip flexors(Psoas) and buttocks all contribute towards Back Pain.
Strength is one of the 3 components that we believe is needed to move forward in any rehabilitation program. We use this MedX Lumbar Extension Machine as part of the strength section of our programs.

Back hurting after sitting at a desk all day? You may need to alter your office setup!
🪑When setting up your chair make sure to:
✅ Raise or lower your chair so your desk or work station is at elbow height.
✅ Use a foot rest to raise your feet if you need to so your hips are at a 90-degree angle.
🖥 Monitor setup:
✅ Position your monitor directly in front of you, not to the side.
✅ The top of your screen should be in line, or slightly lower than your eye line when sitting up straight.
