This week we completed another successful video conferencing installation for a new customer in – further improving their communication with customers, suppliers, and their other office locations.

For this project we installed the Yealink A30 Meeting Bar with CTP18 Touch panel, which was perfectly aligned to meet their requirements and budget.

This solution also incorporated the fantastic Yealink WPP30 accessory, which allows for seamless wireless content sharing and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) functionality.

The Yealink A30 with WPP30 ticked all the boxes of the customer's key requirements to have a high-quality, easy-to-use Microsoft Teams Room system that they could simplistically switch to a wireless BYOD system, as they also participate in meetings hosted on other video meeting platforms.

This week, BVC carried out an upgrade to the meeting room facility at Thorndale - Luxury Coastal Home in Westward Ho, a luxurious Airbnb holiday rental on the stunning North Devon coast.

In this project, we replaced the legacy video conferencing system with a cutting-edge Yealink A20 Video Meeting Bar, configured in device mode.

As a result, guests enjoying a workcation at Thorndale now have the capability to connect to video meetings, whether it be Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or WebEx, hosted on their personal laptop, wirelessly connected to the system using the Yealink WPP30 USB dongle.

Furthermore, thanks to the Yealink touch control, adjusting in-meeting volume, muting microphones, and seamlessly switching between various AI camera tracking modes can all be executed with simplicity.

After a business video meeting guests can then zoom across for a relaxing dip in hot tub!

Poly Video OS 4.1, has been officially released and is now available for use on Poly Studio X series devices and G7500. This software build also includes software versions for:

• Poly TC10/TC8 Controller 4.1.0
• Poly Studio E70 Camera 1.8.0
• Select Poly microphone accessories and USB cameras (see release notes for more information)

With this release comes several new features designed to optimize hybrid work by addressing common challenges. Also included are updates to existing features that provide quality improvements and a more stable Poly VideoOS experience.

Some new features that you will find when using Poly VideoOS 4.1 are:

• Poly DirectorAI Perimeter: Allows you to set a perimeter on the area that you want included in framing, minimizing outside distractions. Ideal for rooms with glass walls, to mitigate distractions caused by framing of people outside your conference room.

• Sound Reflection Reduction: Removes strange artifacts caused by reverb that can distract far end participants. Ideal for rooms with significant reverb to provide a more seamless conferencing experience without the need for as much complex hardware or acoustic panels.

• Studio E70 over IP: Studio E70 can now be connected and powered over ethernet with G7500, giving you more flexibility in your deployment.

Improvements to current features or experiences include:

• Speaker Framing Improvements: Optimizations to the speaker framing experience that help participants to focus on the conversation, not the technology. Some of these enhancements are:

o Looser framing to reduce the number of required reframes, while still getting a close up shot of speakers
o Deliberate framing decisions designed to mitigate distractions
o Non-distracting transitions to reduce far-end fatigue

• Significant improvements to web proxy to address overall stability: With this release, we implemented a few key enhancements to the Poly VideoOS web proxy. These enhancements provide a more stable experience particularly as it relates to network-reliant features.

• Scheduled Reboot: allows the administrator to schedule a nightly or weekly reboot of the system, increasing overall stability against application-based system crashes
