Modern slavery gang masters 'beat' workers 'for fun', victim says 04/07/2024

Behind the numbers lie real people. We are proud to support Tania as she bravely shares her harrowing story with BBC News about the realities of modern slavery in the UK. Forced to work on a farm for 15 years, her experience is a stark reminder of the human cost behind the statistics. Alice, a manager at our national Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline, emphasises the need for continued vigilance.

We can't tackle this alone. Know the signs, report suspicions (08000 121 700), and join us in ending modern slavery.

The Safety of Rwanda Act puts lives at risk. Unseen has joined 27 anti-slavery groups in writing an open letter, urging the UK Government to reverse this new legislation.

The Act disregards expert advice and weakens protections for victims of modern slavery. It creates a climate of fear, opening doors for traffickers to exploit them further.

There is a better way. We urge the Government to instead work with experts to develop a humane and truly effective anti-slavery strategy. Read our letter here: https://bit.ly/4dnt1jd
