🖼️ JELENA DIETRICH 🌸
Potters are happy to welcome our new guest artist Jelena Dietrich!
After falling in love with porcelain during her BA in Vienna, Jelena moved to Bath to pursue an MA in Fine Arts Ceramics.
She uses the plain white porcelain base as a background for mark making and carving texture into her work, with small colour accents of mainly blue and green highlighting the whiteness.
Taking a step away from slip casting, which had been her main focus previously, Jelena has started working on more organic pieces, first thrown on the wheel, then decorated and reshaped. Still early in her career, Jelena finds joy in trying out new ways to work with porcelain.
You can see Jelena's work in our shop until end of February!
Late Happy New Year!

🤸KATHERINE KINGDON 🤸🏽
New guest artist announcement!
Katherine's work is about character and storytelling. She handbuilds with an off-white stoneware clay and aims for a looseness of style which celebrates the nature of the material. Katherine also aims for an element of ambiguity in the subject matter, suggesting a narrative but allowing the viewer enough space to question, interpret and begin to create their own.
We're pleased Katherine is returning to Potters as a guest artist! Pop in to our store to see her illustrative works!
PS. Katherine is also running a bunch of workshops. Go check her profile for more information!
🌑 SUE BRUIJNZEELS 🌕
Working from her own Bristol studio Sue creates predominantly wheel thrown pottery in contemporary shapes. She enjoys the contrast smooth finishes with the imperfections left by the maker's hands - such as the throwing rings you see in her tableware.
Potters are happy to welcome you to our team !
⚙️ MARY-JANE EVANS 🔩
Potters are very excited to welcome our guest artist for October, Mary-Jane Evans!
Mary-Jane is a Three Dimensional Design Ceramics graduate based at Bath Artists' Studios where she creates and teaches. In her 19 years career she's won multiple awards in the UK and Japan, and exhibited her works in galleries throughout the UK.
Mary-Jane is a ceramist and sculptor whose work is driven by a variety of intense processes. Pushing materials to extremes and experimentation is fundamental to her work. She uses exciting and unpredictable techniques combining porcelain, slate, corrosive materials and minerals using the kiln as a time machine to scar and erode her pieces. Her inspiration comes from the landscape of Dorset and the South Coast, urban destruction, nature, found objects and architecture.
Come to Potters to see her stunning works in person!
🐇 SALLY GARDINER 🐰
Sally's work has been inspired by a life long love affair with the countryside. Hares, a once common feature of the field and the downs are a particular favourite as symbols of feminity and longevity. All of Sally's pieces are individually hand built using stoneware clay. She uses slips, glazes and oxides before a final firing to 1260 degrees.
Sally will be in the shop tomorrow, 11th October, so don't hesitate if you want to meet her and have a chat! Come and see Sally's amazing work at Potters! We're open 10.15am-5.30pm 🤗

Our Story
Potters was established in 1996 as a cooperative to exhibit the work of over 25 potters and ceramic artists local to the Bristol area. Together we work to promote the best of contemporary British ceramics.
We offer a friendly atmosphere in which to browse, with a diverse range of ceramics to enjoy, and the opportunity to discuss the work with the potters who made them.
We also invite a guest potter or artist each month to exhibit their work within out gallery space - therefore promoting upcoming talent within the area, or bring long established ceramic artist into the city of Bristol.
Contact us for more information on [email protected], and visit www.pottersbristol.com for details on all our members and guest potter exhibitions.
