🧪 EXPERIMENT #02 🧪

We’ve just produced another experimental pint in our small-batch series trying out some new hop combinations 🙌

Expect punchy floral, tropical, fruity, summer flavours from a mixture of top-quality, new age hops including: El Dorado, Mosaic, and Sabro 🌴🍍

BS4 ARTS TRAIL THIS SATURDAY! 🙌

This weekend we’re joining the BS4 Arts Trail! Super excited to be a part of this amazing day full of the best local talent spread across this wonderful community! 🫶

We’re hosting 5 artists throughout the taproom and yard showcasing their artwork. There will also be stalls in the yard so you have a chance to grab some amazing, unique pieces! 😁

We’ll be serving up homemade sausage rolls made by The Rising Sun! So head down, grab a pint and a bite, and see some of the best artists Bristol has to offer.

HUBFEST HIGHLIGHTS 🙌

What. A. Weekend. Thank you all so much for coming along and making it such a fantastic event. First time we’ve done something like this and we had an amazing time. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. 🥳

Special thanks to the amazing I scream tacos for saving the day last minute and cooking up some of the best Mexican food around. 🤩 We cannot wait to welcome them back soon. 🙏

Also a HUGE thanks to Mike Walsh Music, George Wilding and Jess Chivers who filled the yard with amazing sounds throughout the afternoon and evening. You were all absolutely brilliant! 👊

SET TIMES ARE HERE! Mike Walsh Music will be kicking off the festivities at 3PM, with George Wilding covering the afternoon set at 5:30PM and our 8PM headliner evening set will be the incredible Jess Chivers!! 🙌

Sadly, los hermanos bailed on the weekend but the incredible local hero I scream tacos is here to save the day! These Bristol legends will be cooking up some fiery Mexican flavours all day long! We cannot wait!! 🤩

We’ve had a wicked month of great events. From cheese + beer tasting sessions to our monthly gig night, from quiz + wings nights to our sip and paint event; it’s been a great month�🙌

Special thanks to this months amazing food vendors: The Cheese Connection, Los Hermanos, and of course Gurt Wings. They’ve been filling the taproom with some next level street food and it’s been truly amazing. 👌

The events are still rolling in with Gurt Wings back this Thursday to serve up some insane wings for our infamous quiz night hosted by Bucks Quizz. 🍗🎷

On Saturday we’ll be holding our mini festival HUBFEST with the return of Los Hermanos and some unbelievable local talent. It’s shaping up to be a great day and we cannot wait to see you all there! 🎉

✨ NEW SMALL BATCH BEER: SAINT ARNOLD - Belgian IPA 5% ✨

As a part of our experimental small-batch series, we’ve brewed a special edition Belgian IPA that will be available exclusively at The Taproom and The Rising Sun. 🎉

This beer promotes punchy new age hops with a soft malt base and fermented using traditional yeast originating from Poperinge, Belgium 🇧🇪 This yeast strain will produce the aromatic and fruity flavours typically found in Belgian beers. Something brand-new for our range and we couldn’t be more excited it about it! 🙌

This year we’ve joined the BS4 Arts Trail! 👨‍🎨🎨🎉

The arts trail showcases Bristol's best artists, makers, designers, and creatives whilst giving you a tour of this amazing community. 🙌

On Saturday 15th we’ll be hosting some incredible artists and designers by displaying their work throughout the taproom and having a couple stalls set up in the yard! You lucky lot get a chance to grab yourself some incredible, unique pieces whilst supporting local artists. 🤩

The trail also involves a huge selection of workshops and activities throughout BS4 including craft sessions, printmaking, wellbeing sessions, pottery, and loads more. Make sure you get down to see how amazing these Bristol-based creatives are and stop off at the taproom for some refreshments! 🍻

We feel honoured to be a part of this celebration and cannot wait for the 15th June! ✌️

🌻 SPRING SEASONAL 🌻

When the weather’s been miserable all weekend we think it’s important to remind everyone that Spring is coming! Our Spring seasonal, Bees Knees, is back very soon! 🐝

Is there anything better than a honey-infused ale to make it feel like Spring time? This beautiful beer is currently fermenting away and will be rolling out in the coming days! 🥳

We use classic East Kent Goldings combined with modern Olicana hops to produce a well-balanced, bittersweet pale ale. Combine this with locally sourced honey to get a truly unique beer. 🍯🍺

Who’s excited for the return of Bees Knees? Watch this space to find out when it’s available in the taproom but until then, keep an eye-out at your local pubs for this brilliant brew. 👀

🏆 CHAMPION OF THE KEGS 🏆

We could not be more proud to announce our award winners from this year’s SIBA South West Awards. 🙌

We’re chuffed to win Bronze for both Moose River and it’s little brother Mini Moose for the Pale Ale and Session Pale competition; also bringing home Silver for Black Flower in the Speciality Dark Beer competition. 👌

We are over the moon to announce that Two Steppin’ won gold in two categories: Keg Session Lager and OVERALL CHAMPION OF THE KEGS!! 🥇

Our first real stab at a proper lager went through some big changes to get were it is now but to win this, reassures us that all the hard work was worth it.

We are so proud of this brew and love hearing all the amazing feedback from it. We cannot thank you all enough for the support over the years and will continue striving to bring you great pints! 👊

Taking it back to the early days of Hop Union Brewery we’ve reinvented one of our original pints - Classic Gold. A 4.6% modernised Golden Ale. 👑

Reinventing this pint involved digging out the old recipe books and finding a brew sheet from 2008! We decided it was time this recipe was dug up and reborn. 🙌

With new wave hops we’ve managed to breathe new life into a classic beer and produced a unique style of a golden ale. A forgotten about style a beer that is rare to find. 👌

🌾 Wheat + Crystal + Golden Promise Malts
🍂 Aurora + Bru-1 Hops
👨‍🏫 Smooth and hoppy golden ale with subtle tropical fruit flavours.

For the first time EVER we’ve kegged Bonville Pale! 🤩

From the early days of this brewery it was known as Hambrook Pale. A light easy-going 4% pale ale that is a proud staple of our core range. With the move to Brislington and brand refresh, Hambrook became Bonville Pale. 🍻

Not only has the name changed but, subtle recipe changes have made this brew a prominent and punchy pint in any pub line up. Now boasting a fruity, soft bitterness with punchy citrus flavours from hops such as Ekuanot, Olicana, Simcoe, and Citra. 👌

Ever-changing with the times and remaining one of our most popular brews to date, Bonville is now available in keg.
