Marcia will be making sure all freshers voices are heard and ensuring that they all have something to get involved in with the society! She’ll also be producing Winter Cabaret with Chloe!❄️
Marcia’s favourite MTB memory so far was Newbies Cab! (see her pictured as a newsie above✊🏼) and she’s looking forwards to meeting new people and having a slay time!

It’s time to meet your Freshers Reps!
First up is Chloe! Chloe will be producing the Winter Cabaret along side our other freshers rep (yet to be announced…🤫) and making sure that all the first years and newbies in the society are having a great time!
Her favourite MTB memory is pretending to know Taylor swift songs in lizard socials and she’s looking forwards to watching Carrie come together in the loco klub!

We have some new committee members to introduce!!
First up is Lucy, who is debuting the brand new role of Workshop Rep💪🏼
Lucy will be organising regular workshops for all of our members to take part in! These will include but not be limited to….sessions to improve our MT skills and workshops where we just get to have fun and learn a piece of musical theatre together🎉
Lucy’s favourite MTB memory is everyone dancing together onstage when the curtains close after showcase! and she’s looking forward to getting to learn cool new things from each other in cool new workshops😎 + many more socials!

Sign Ups for our Winter Cabaret will be posted on the instagram story tomorrow at 1pm!!
This is an UNAUDITIONED Cabaret so anyone can get involved! All you have to do is sign up for a singing slot (Friday evening) which will just be used to allocate you to numbers in the show that we think will best suit you!
‼️Please only sign up if you are available for the Dress and the Show and know you can definitely take part in this as spaces are limited! (23 slots)

MTB’s Christmas Dinner/Winter Ball🎄🍾🎊
It will be at the Square Club on Wednesday the 6th December from 7pm (food served at 9.15!)
Ticket link will be posted at 2pm on the story!! (Only 80 available & you must have a membership)
Tickets are £25 which includes your meal and half a bottle of wine😉
Can’t wait to celebrate an amazing first term with you all!!

MAIN SHOW AUDITIONS!
Get excited because auditions for both of our main shows are taking place next week! 🎉🎉
You have to sign up for a singing slot AND a dance audition to get into a show and if you audition you will be considered for both shows! (Unless you state otherwise - but we recommend auditioning for both!*)
*you can only be in one show so this will just mean both production teams will consider you (but both can’t cast you)
Audition slots will be released to sign up on Friday! - please prepare 1 minute of a song to sing in your singing audition, you do not need to prepare anything for the dance auditions! A dance will be taught on the day and we will have more confident and less confident dance slots🕺🏻

The show we are currently recruiting band members for is our annual Showcase! This is where we perform 6 15-minute excerpts from different musicals which means we end up playing a rather fun variety of music! This year the musicals we are performing are: Mean Girls, Into the Woods, Jekyll and Hyde, Bring it On, Footloose and Waitress. 

The key dates for this are:

Sitzprobe: 21st October
Dress/Tech Run: 30th October
Shows: 1st - 4th November

Rehearsals will begin soon in the next week, twice a week.

We’re having a MTB band workshop/GIAG next Sunday! (1st October) from 6-8pm in the band room (Music Room 1) in the Richmond Building🎵
You’ll be looking through some of the showcase music to get a taste for playing with other people and being conducted by our MD!
After this we will be releasing our showcase band signup!!
