After hundreds of public nominations, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta honors the city's unsung heroes with a hot air balloon ride across Bristol!
Earlier this morning the balloons took to the skies from Ashton Court, with one balloon carrying BBC Radio Bristol's very own, Laura Rawlings. Penny Brohn UK put Laura forward as a local hero in recognition for her ongoing support to the charity, in thanks for her incredible fundraising and awareness raising over the last year!
18 remarkable local heroes, nominated by the public, were selected for this exciting opportunity. All recognised for their exceptional contributions, acts of kindness, bravery, or inspiration.

Bereavement support group - Online session π±
This new group hosted by Emily Wright is a safe and confidential space to support you in your journey through bereavement from cancer.
In each session, a topic will be offered as a starting point, but it will mostly be led by the stories and experiences shared by you.
βEmily was a kind attentive presence in a very valuable space in which I had the opportunity to share and explore the complexities of my grief safely and without judgement.
