Just to let everyone know my baby Sid is out from his operation & in recovery..ready & waiting to be picked up

just to let you know as from Thursday 29th June I will be closed until Monday 10th July…
I’ve just had the vets call me & My poor dog Sid has a tumour & has to have his back leg amputated 😩..
he is going to need his mummy 24/7 for his recovery.. it’s going to be a challenge but hopefully you will see him soon walking and back to his happy self..

Seeking Green Waste Heroes - Brixton needs you!

Most of you already know that South Hams District Council has introduced an annual charge for green waste collection.

This is not good news.

Fortunately, Brixton residents have the option of our community site at Catson Green which is a great alternative to the brown bin, and there’s no charge!

However, we do know that some people can’t get their garden waste to us so we are seeking some Green Waste Heroes.

If you have a neighbour who you know is in this position would you be prepared to help?

If you want to help others in your street perhaps you could post on our page to make contact with them.

We are more than happy for you to use the Brixton Composters page as a notice board offering to collect others green waste, if you are making a trip yourself.

Whenever you bring a neighbour’s green waste to Catson Green we’d be grateful if you use their name and address on the sign-in sheet.

By way of a ‘thank you’ from us for each good deed we’d like to offer you a free breakfast at the Farm Shop cafe just inside the entrance to South West Composting Ltd.

If you’ve got the time you can walk to the cafe from our site. Claim your free breakfast from Debs and give her your contact details and those of the neighbour(‘s) you’ve been kind enough to help out.

Brixton is a wonderful village with a great community spirit, so we hope as many of you as possible will get behind the scheme and become 'Green Waste Heroes'.

Remember, the more green waste deposited at the site, the more money we make for the village. It's win, win for all.

Free Food Offer

Our free food offer at BAPelicious has clearly been very well received in the local community and, as planned, it will continue until the end of March.

However, given the growing pressure on our finite resources, in March it will only be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

We think this fits well with the Warm Hub in the pub which opens on Mondays and Thursdays, providing support throughout the week.
