I am writing this review as a warning to any business approached by Green Jellyfish: stay as far away from them as possible. They claim to be R&D tax experts, but I can assure you, based on my personal experience, that this couldn't be further from the truth.

In April of 2022, Green Jellyfish approached my company, promising expertise in innovation and R&D tax credits. After initial consultations, we made the unfortunate decision to engage their services. They filed R&D tax claims on our behalf for our year-end 2021 and 2022 accounts over a 3-month period.

Initially, the claims appeared to be successful for both year ends. Everything seemed fine. However, the situation quickly took a turn for the worse when HMRC conducted a compliance check on our R&D tax claims for both years. To our dismay, the compliance check revealed that our business had incorrectly claimed for R&D tax refunds.

Not only did Green Jellyfish mislead us into believing they were competent in this field, but they also charged us a hefty 15% fee for their services. Now that our claims have been deemed incorrect and we face penalties from HMRC, we naturally requested a refund of the fee. Shockingly, Green Jellyfish has flat-out refused to return the money, leaving us no choice but to seek legal advice to recover what is rightfully ours.

As a result of Green Jellyfish's false expertise, incorrect claims, and refusal to refund the fee, our company is now in a dire situation. We not only have to repay the entire claim amount to HMRC but are also left grappling with legal complexities and potential financial losses.

I strongly advise any business considering their services to steer clear of Green Jellyfish. Their claims of being R&D tax experts are baseless, and their actions have led to disastrous consequences for my company. Save yourself the trouble, expenses, and potential legal ramifications by avoiding this company at all costs. They are nothing more than a group of inept individuals who should not be trusted with such crucial matters.

Do yourself a favour and seek out reputable and reliable professionals who genuinely specialize in R&D tax credits. Green Jellyfish is a prime example of what happens when you place your trust in the wrong hands. Protect your business and your finances by avoiding them altogether. Learn from our unfortunate experience and spare yourself the agony of dealing with such unscrupulous and incompetent individuals who not only fail to deliver on their promises but also refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

Kare Plus Ashford & Margate Achieves Living Wage Foundation Accreditation

For the past year, we have been actively planning & implementing a structure for our businesses to be able to deliver a Real Living Wage to all our staff, both the carers on the frontline & our office staff working away behind the scenes.

It became a passion of mine as the Company Director to ensure our care teams were paid more than the standard minimum government wage. As a company, we have always paid above the National Minimum Wage since 2016, but it became apparent in the last two years That this simply was not enough in my eye for what our Care & office-based staff deserve.

So, we got to work on our numbers back in December 2021 & with a lot of desire we decided to pay our staff near or even above the Real London Living Wage on an average pay throughout the week. This was never going to be an easy process, particularly where we are providers to the Local Authority & the NHS who set their own rates of pay somewhat to Social Care providers such as ourselves, and these rates are not as what we would ideally charge to allow us to be able to deliver the Real Living Wage, but at the end of the day I’m very proud and happy to say we have achieved this since April 2022 and we will deliver this minimum guarantee to all our staff year upon year.

For me it’s essential to always be conscious of the fact that we as Employers are ensuring our staff have real life pay rises every year that are not only competitive in the there and now, but are higher than the minimum increases proposed every year since the Minimum wages inception in 1998 & by committing to the Real Living Wage I feel this will make a real difference to our staffs work lives & their personal lives.

We look forward to championing the Real Living Wage in many years to come!
