What would your reaction be if you turned up to your store one morning and found the signage had fallen off? From our own experience we know it can happen - and more often that you might think.
Your signage might look great but there may be a disaster lurking behind it. If your timber sub-fascia has not had regular intrusive inspections then it could be counting down to a major failure. And that could put your customers and staff of risk of injury – and your business reputation on the line.
That’s why you should make sure you have detailed inspections of your store frontage at least every 5 years. Read more about the need to check the wood behind your signage – and how to do it.

If you’re in a situation where you are having to evaluate how to maintain your signage, you will rightly be looking at what options might be available to you.
For example, you may think having a building contractor or roofer looking after your signage is perfectly fine. Maybe a local signmaker can do the job instead? Or even not bothering with all the time and effort with maintenance at all – which can look appealing if you have new signage in place.
Before you decide what path to take, it’s wise to consider your legal responsibilities with signage you have on a building. Take a minute to read about the options you might consider for maintaining your signage – and the realities of these alternatives.
