Life will find a way........

13 years ago today I signed the lease on the first shop we opened, and Refreshers was born. This weekend we will close the doors of our last physical store, and move online.

It's with great sadness I have had to make this decision, but with the current cost of living crises, increased costs across every single sector and a challenging climate have given me no choice.

But what a 13 years!! We've sold over a million bottles of wine, employed over 150 great amazing people, all from different backgrounds, going onto be Nurses, Teachers, Conservationists, Meteorologists, Sommeliers and much much more. Been to the Rioja, Burgundy and Champagne regions to sample their vino, been to TV Centre with a giant cheque, been on TV, (been to court 🙈) been written about, talked about, gossiped about and no doubt cursed about! Maybe sometimes I've been a little too 'Ian Beale' and sometimes I could have been a bit more 'Alan Sugar'. We've had so many great customers, the Mayor and even Royalty 😆.

Thanks everyone who's been part of our journey. Ive been lucky to have a great loyal team from day 1. I've also made some great friends for life along the way, and sadly I've lost some friends too, but its been a blast.
