So today would have been day one of BrumJam2021! We can't quite believe how quick this day has arrived and we really hope that all our BrumJammers around the world are safe and well and that in some way getting back to Scouting and Guiding.
We think back to our events in 2012 and 2016 and they bring back many memories....lovely people, fantastic activities and that special BrumJam magic. We remember on our first days coming over the fields to meet and greet you all, transporting kit to the sub-camps and then getting together for our opening ceremony. On behalf of the Organising Team we send our positive thoughts to you all and we really do hope to see you all soon.....We've picked a selection of photos to bring back some BrumJam memories. Please comment on how you all are, pop your own photos on, tell us what you remember from the camps or just say hello to fellow BrumJammers - it would be great to hear from you all....

20/02/2021

The Organising Team met this week and have taken the difficult decision to cancel BrumJam 2021, due to the continuing restrictions and uncertainty surrounding the likelihood of being able to hold a large-scale event in England by August.
We appreciate the cancellation will be sad news to Groups and Staff members who were looking forward to joining us but we did agree to make a final decision in February and send out an update.
Group leaders and Staff members who have booked onto the event will receive an email from the Bookings team within the next week explaining how to claim a refund.
Please bear with us whilst these emails are sent out. To aid the communication process at this time it would be helpful if any queries come in from only Group leaders or Staff members to the [email protected] email address.
Thank you for your loyal support of the event and we hope to run the event again in 2024!

21/12/2020

Sending all our BrumJammers from around the world our best wishes for a Happy Christmas. We hope you are all keeping safe in these challenging times and we really do hope to see you in 2021.

So we've reached the end of our fantastic look back at BrumJam2016. Some amazing activities and wonderful people to thank for taking part and supporting us....We are now looking forward to BrumJam2021...Next week we are focusing on the staff roles we have available. Also a reminder that we are taking expressions of interest for Groups that want to attend without financial commitment at this stage. This opportunity will run until the end of August. It is hoped that this approach will give both leaders and young people time to consider attending and for you to let us know approximate numbers. There will be no need to pay deposits until we have confirmed your booking.
The allocation of places will be on a “first come, first served” basis and the allocation of places will commence on the 1st September.
To register your interest please email our bookings team: [email protected]
Thank you BrumJammers - stay safe and enjoy the rest of the Summer...
( and here's a few more of our favourite memories to keep us going....)

Photos from BrumJam's post 07/08/2020

And Day 6, that's all folks - well we had a whole bunch of other activities going on during the week - Sub Camp Day, Blackwell Adventure Day, Evening Entertainments, Closing Ceremony and not forgetting our International friends and all the adult Staff that make BrumJam possible. To be honest we ran out of photo's so if you have got some by all means upload your memories.

Photos from BrumJam's post 06/08/2020

And on to Day 5 - We're a Knock Out. After a short walk to Pikes Pool we have a full day of 'It's A Knockout' style event. A bunch of giant inflatables, obstacles and props, as well as the arena and PA system all run by We're a Knock Outs enthusiastic team. The event consists of a series of rounds with each team also taking part and a final. It's a whole day and inflatables, team work and fun.

So just under an hour to go before Dave and Rev go live for our BrumJAM Radio@Home show. Lots to talk about, loads of great music and a few guest appearances.... Drop a note in the comments section if you'd like to request a song and it would be great to have you all listening to the show....

Photos from BrumJam's post 05/08/2020

Sooooo Day 4 - after a busy day yesterday at Alton Towers something a little more calming today - we're on site for the On site programme day (in 2021 will be called Imagination Day) - a range of activities were on offer from Brush Craft, Craft, Pool Party, Big Bounce, Zorbing and Segway to name a few. With a slightly later start where you can come and go as you please throughout the day, this is a good day to also go to main camp Flag Break

Photos from BrumJam's post 04/08/2020

Wow what a start to Day 3 - off site at Alton Towers - Great work between the Sub Camps, Programme and Support Teams to get 500 participants (the whole of one Sub Camp) off to Alton Towers for 8:15am departure. It is a very early start and a late finish but worth it for a chance to ride on Nemesis and The Smiler. There will be lots of smiling today ;-)

Photos from BrumJam's post 03/08/2020

And Day 2 - Water Activities Day - 250 participants where off site at 9.00am for a full day of water activities including sailing, SUP, kayaking & windsurfing. There is a chance you are definitely going to get wet... now you know why the Programme Team reminded everybody to bring towels and a change of clothes. :-)

Photos from BrumJam's post 02/08/2020

So day one of a week of great photos from BrumJam2016.....today a mixed selection of some great shots - can you spot yourselves? We'll post a selection each day, hoping to recreate the BrumJam atmosphere and hoping for a great camp in 2021...enjoy....

01/08/2020

So tonight would have been our opening ceremony so for everybody that would have been with us at BrumJam2020 we hope you are all well, staying safe and we hope to see you all at BrumJam2021...we'll be picking some great moments from 2016 to relive the best bits so stay tuned...

18/06/2020

Thank you to all of the Groups who have responded to our emails about either rebooking onto BrumJam2021 or taking a refund. We have had an excellent response and it is great to see so many Groups joining us for the 2021 event!
We are now in a position to take “expressions of interest”, without financial commitment at this stage, from Groups who wish to apply for the spare places (or additional places) on the event. This opportunity will open today and run until the end of August.
We will be advertising and opening up more staff roles shortly - and will post more information on this in the next few weeks. As ever, thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe....

21/05/2020

The BrumJam2021 organising team met last night, looking forward to next year when we can have a really fantastic camp. To those Groups and Staff members that have responded to our email to either rebook or cancel for 2021 thank you. We now need to chase down those that have still to reply so that we can readvertise participant places and also the remaining staff vacancies. Emails will be going out to those that haven't responded so if you do get one of these it is a huge help to us to have a reply so we can promote spaces in June. Hoping everybody is well, enjoying the sunshine and we'll be back in touch...

05/05/2020

Hi BrumJammers, we hope you are safe and well during these unusual times. Just a reminder that all Staff and Groups that had booked onto the 2020 Camp will have had an email from us asking you to either rebook onto the 2021 event or to cancel your booking. It would really help us to get these replies in before the end of May so we can see how many places are available and also which staff roles are then needed to be filled. We appreciate that it is difficult to plan ahead but a response would be great so we can advertise these places at the beginning of June. Thank you for your support and please stay safe...

30/03/2020

Thank you BrumJammers for all your kind words - new logos have arrived, great to be able to post these for the 2021 event

28/03/2020

Further to our recent BrumJam2020 update, the Organising Team met this week and have taken the difficult decision to postpone BrumJam2020. The good news is that we will be holding BrumJam2021 at the same venue, Blackwell Court, on the dates of 31st July - 7th August 2021! The programme and theme will remain unchanged and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank our contractors, suppliers and Blackwell Adventure for helping to move the event to 2021!
We appreciate at these difficult times in Scouting the postponement will be sad news to Groups and Staff who were joining us but felt that with the rapidly changing circumstances the clock was against us continuing with the 2020 event. Groups and Staff who have booked onto the event will receive an email from the Bookings team later today to help them to rebook onto BrumJam2021, or receive a refund. Please bear with us whilst these emails are sent out and where we can we will deal with queries from Group Leaders and Staff members.
The 2020 (now 2021) Organising Team are fully committed to putting on a great event and we hope that this gives us all something special to look forward to!
We hope to see as many BrumJammers at BrumJam2021 as possible. Thank you for your continued support.

18/03/2020

BrumJam 2020: As we’re sure you’ll appreciate we’ve received a number of questions over recent days and weeks regarding whether BrumJam 2020 will be going ahead or if we’re planning to cancel it. As you can imagine this is a constantly changing situation and as yet we cannot say for certain what the outcome will be. With regards to BrumJam 2020, we held a Birmingham County team meeting this week and have deferred any decision until the end of May about cancelling the event in order to give us as much opportunity as possible to understand if the current restrictions will be lifted in time for the event to be held as planned.
We fully appreciate that each group has got different considerations and we understand that this is not ideal for planning purposes but does give us a larger window for us to make a final decision. As more information becomes available we will communicate further updates before the end of May.
All Groups booked on will receive a message regarding the situation this week. Thank you for your ongoing support - lets continue to be optimistic that we can run this fantastic event.
