Blackwell Montessori Nursery

We have had a great time during holiday club, 3 weeks packed full of art and craft activities, games, cooking, walks and picnics in the woods and so much fun. We have enjoyed seeing lots of our previous families and also made lots of new friends. We would like to wish you all a lovely summer and hope to see you next time. Nursery will re-open on Monday 2nd September.

We've had a few very busy weeks. Children enjoyed making self portraits, lots of winter arts and crafts, making Valentine's cards and celebrating Chinese New Year. Despite the weather, we have enjoyed some nice walks in the woods and all our new children are settling in nicely. Hope you all have a lovely half term, nursery will re-open on Monday 19th February.

Last week was a busy one, we learned about Bonfire Night, Diwali and Remembrance day, we took a walk over to the war memorial and through the woods to look at the beautiful autumn coloured leaves and trees :)

All the children went on a beautiful walk in the Lickey Hills today....best way to learn about autumn :)

Very emotional day today, saying goodbye to Mrs Jones. We are all going to miss you and wish you a happy and well deserved retirement.

Our first week is over and it has been lovely seeing all our families back after the summer break. We have enjoyed the lovely weather and made new friends. Our new children are settling in nicely and are enjoying their time at nursery :) We hope that our big boys and girls who left in the summer are having a great time at school. Don't forget to pop in to see us if you passing by :) Have a nice weekend, we will see you next week for more fun and learning

We are now closed for the summer and will re-open on Monday 4th September. It was lovely seeing so many of our current and previous families in our holiday club. We had so much fun, playing games, doing arts and crafts, cooking and baking and going for walks in the Lickeys. Enjoy your summer holidays 🙂

Message from Erin, our Jolly Phonics teacher: "It's been such a fun year working with the 3 & 4 year olds on a Tuesday. We've worked on 40 different phonic sounds in our Jolly Phonics music class and have had lots of fun with the signs and songs for each sound. We've also done all kinds of musical games and songs to re-enforce the action or theme of the week. We've used percussion instruments, balls, scarves, teddies, ribbons, puppets and much more.

Today children have recorded a Christmas music video that is available for parents to view on Tapestry :)

We had a special visitor last Friday. Reverend Sheri Gidney from the Lickey Church came to see us at nursery to share the Christmas story with the children. This Tuesday we also had our Christmas party; we enjoyed dancing, playing party games, eating party food and seeing Father Christmas. More photos are available on children's individual Tapestry accounts.

On Monday we went exploring into the woods and learned about autumn and the nature

Today we collected leaves and sticks in the garden to make a 'bonfire' and roasted marshmallows. We talked about Bonfire night and fire safety.
