In the wake of losing their beloved mother to early-onset Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in 2016, Jordan and Cian Adams have faced an unimaginable reality: they both carry the gene that causes this cruel disease. FTD is a rare form of dementia that attacks the front and sides of the brain, leading to devastating changes in behavior and language. As it progresses, it strips away a personβs mental and physical abilities. The heartbreaking truth is that the Adams brothers are likely to start showing symptoms in their early forties, and tragically lose their lives within a decade π
But instead of giving in to despair, Jordan, 28, and Cian, 23, have turned their pain into purpose. Over the past five years, they've raised more than Β£30,000 to fund crucial research, and next month, on September 1st, the brothers will start their most ambitious challenge yet, running the 903 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in 31 days πββοΈ
