Buckie Community High School
Secondary school in Moray Council.
What a great first week back! Lots of learning and achieving happening all across the school! Thank you and well done to everyone on adhering to the dress code and putting in the effort to be appropriately dressed for school. Let's keep this up as we move forward!
We have had a door upgrade during the summer holidays. All pupils should enter school via the Reception doors on Wednesday 14th August.
Further information will be provided to pupils in assemblies.
Young Scot Cards & Canteen
We are excited to welcome our new S1s to Buckie High School on Wednesday.
This is a reminder that all pupils should have applied for their Young Scot Cards to access the canteen and snack bar. If you have not applied for your Young Scot card, the easiest way to do it is to go to Buckie Community Library or the school reception.
We are looking forward to welcoming pupils back to school on Wednesday 14th August.
Remember that today and tomorrow are both In-Service Days.
Happy holidays to all pupils, parents, carers and supporters of Buckie High School. Hopefully the weather is kind to us. Whatever you are doing, we hope you have a restful and enjoyable summer.
The curtain has closed on Shrek The Musical Jr one final time.
We have had an absolutely brilliant time putting this production on. So many people from across the school and beyond have helped make this happen and we couldn't be prouder of the cast and team. The young people have truly excelled themselves and they are a credit to the school, their families and the community.
Thank you to all for coming along and supporting our production. It means a huge amount to us

Good Quality Used School Wear
Please don’t throw out decent school wear which you no longer use.
We can make use of good quality used school wear, either by donating it to Moray School Bank through our collection bin, or recycling it in school if they are Buckie High appropriate items.
We will be having a recycling drive for items after the holidays so if you could save anything you are finished with till then, we’d be very grateful. Recycle, reuse, save money and save the planet too!

Buckie High is promoting Inclusive Education and Positive Relationships
Whole school assemblies were held recently for all Year Groups to launch Moray Council’s revised Anti Bullying Policy. Information was shared with staff and pupils about several activities that have been arranged to promote positive relationships.
Leaflets are available for parents on our website and for pupils on GLOW.
For Pride Awareness Month, Buckie High is focusing on training all staff using the excellent resources from TIE “Time for Inclusion” for LGBT Inclusive Education. This month there are lots of activities happening in the Library: LGBT Star in the Jar, Interform “helping yourself” Quiz and we are making positive badges. In PSE classes pupils are creating supportive comments to create a “Tree of Support” which will be displayed in the Social Area when it is complete.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our production of Shrek The Musical Jr is…SOLD OUT! 🥳
Thank you to the whole community, family and friends for getting behind us and supporting the show. We can’t wait to bring it to life next week!

🌟S6 Induction Day 🌟
Our new S6s spent all day Monday exploring what it means to be a good role model and pupil leader at BCHS as part of their S6 Induction Day.
They had opportunities to discover and reflect on their own skills and what can be improved upon to demonstrate strong leadership that encompasses our key values of CARE: Compassion, Ambition, Respect and Effort. Our staff led pupils through a variety of activities throughout the day with the core emphasis on moving out of their comfort zone to foster a growth mindset.
Pupils also heard from Neil Macintosh, former Head of Youth Development at the Scottish Football Association and Academy Manager for Ross County, who delivered an inspirational session on skills for school work and lifelong learning.
Pupils were also given the opportunity to sign up to various leadership roles within the school, rounding up the day with a motivational mocktail to kick start their final year at BCHS. 🌟

Today we said goodbye to Lucy and Liam, our Foundation Apprentices, who both worked with us over the past year on their work experience placement. 🌟
They both did a phenomenal job supporting the team with social media, events management, video production and editing, and general admin tasks. 🎥🎬
Thank you to both Lucy and Liam for their efforts and we wish them both a successful journey into and beyond University in the coming months. 🎉🎓 Lucy is off to study Marketing in Edinburgh and Liam is off to study Game Design in Dundee 🎮
