Some incredible efforts from two of our athletes yesterday.
In no particular order Charmaine took on the Dorney Triathlon. A great achievement after all the hard work she put into her training over the last few months 👏
We also had Rob compete the whopping Henley Swim Events 13k Thames Marathon swim 🏊 😮
Congratulations to both of you and we hope you’re enjoying a well earned rest day!
Beautiful morning for a swim 🏊♂️
It was great to see so many club members at Aylesbury Park Run this morning.
Donna Lee has been coaching us all every Wednesday and it was great to put all that hard work into practice.
Thank you to all the volunteers who made Park Run possible today and for the warm welcome given to us by the Race Director 😊
Well done everyone 👏
Sunday social ride.
What a beautiful morning for a ride!
We took a gentle cycle along Waddesdon Greenway this morning with some cheeky hill repeats thrown into the mix.
Wednesday night pyramid session.
It was great to see some new faces at last night’s run session.
We chose to do a pyramid session. The theory behind pyramid sessions, is you run at a high intensity, alternated with periods of low intensity to recovery, and repeat at varying distances, all in a single session.
These sessions are fantastic for improving your endurance, enabling you to run faster for longer. Great if you’re looking to set a new 5k PB!
🥇 Medal Monday 🥇
After a relatively quiet spell our athletes were back with a bang this weekend competing at various events across the country.
On Saturday Jean took part in the Race to the Stones ultramarathon in Avebury, Wiltshire whilst Vicki swam 5k at the Enduro series at Box End, Bedfordshire. 🏊 🤩
Yesterday Neil completed the ATW
Dorney triathlon while Anita and Natasha broke their triathlon ducks accompanied by Amy and James at Chesham sprint triathlon. 👏
Fantastic effort by everyone involved 🥳

This 5 person relay race across 4 days between London and Paris is a fantastic experience finishing by the iconic Eiffel Tower 🤩
Mental Health Awareness week.
Exercise plays a crucial role in promoting overall wellbeing. Here are some of the reasons why it’s so important 👇
Reduced risk of chronic long term health conditions such as coronary heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. ✅
Improved cardiovascular health. Exercise helps maintain healthy blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood flow. ❤️
Stronger bones: weight bearing exercises help prevent bone loss and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. 🦴
Stress reduction: Physical activity helps manage stress levels and promotes relaxation. 🧘♀️
Enhanced mood: Exercise releases endorphins, which boost mood and reduce symptoms of depression. 😃
Better sleep quality: Regular physical activity improves sleep patterns. 😴
HSV Triathlon
A small handful of our athletes blew off the cobwebs early this morning in Hatfield.
Here’s a 📸 of Rob in action.
The team at ATW couldn’t have picked a better morning for it 👏
Great to see so many people from Leighton Buzzard Triathlon Club too 🤩
🥇 Medal Monday🥇
Big up to for completing the Ultra X 25k in Surrey on Saturday 🤩 👏
The event took place on the Serpent Trail, an amazing route that winds through the greensand hills, rivers, woodland, and lowland heath of the South Downs National Park. A habitat which is rarer than rainforest and home to a number of rare and endangered species.
Despite his training being severely hampered by various work commitments Peter finished the course in a very credible time, just under three hours. 😮 👍
🥇
Lovely sunny Sunday morning ride through the Buckinghamshire villages ☀️ 🚴
🥇 Medal Monday 🥇
Huge congratulations to Simon Deyes and Vicki who ran the Brighton Marathon Weekend yesterday.
Simon completed the course in under 5 hours and Vicki in 4 hours 9 minutes which gave her 33rd place of the 260 ladies in her age group 🤩 👏
🥇 Medal Monday🥇
Congratulations to Adam Poland-Goodyer and Adrian Cockell who took part in the Glorious Gravel Salisbury Plain Gravel cycling event on Saturday.
The guys took on the 93km route across a mix of road, singletrack through the woods and sweeping gravel trails on the Plain.
A shout out also to Matthew Rush and Dan for running the ATW Bedford 10k this morning 👏
We’re excited to see how Simon Deyes gets on at the Brighton Marathon Weekend next month.
He’s raising money for a very important cause. Any donations, however small are greatly appreciated thank you 🙏

Congratulations to Jean and Paul who took part in their first RunningTribe event at Chalfont St.Peter yesterday. 👏
The course is a 10km loop and you decide on the day if you want to run 10km, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or an Ultra Marathon. If on the day you only want to run 10km then you can stop and still be in with a chance to win the 10km race!
Jean and Paul completed a very respectable 32.5k on the day 🤩
🤩 Sunday run day 🏃🏻♂️
What a glorious, sunny and dry morning it’s been here. A few of our club members were due to take part in the ATW Bedford 10k today which was cancelled due to flooding. 😢
However, all the hard hours of training didn’t go to waste. Instead they headed to The Phoenix Trail. For those of you who aren’t local, this is a flat, car free pathway which takes you through some beautiful countryside between Thame and Princes Risborough.
Happy Valentines Day everyone. We couldn’t resist resharing this super cute photo of two of our club members ❤️
This morning we took on our inaugural Run Until You Drop challenge.
The format is simple. Run a 5k lap every hour until you drop. The winner is whoever completes the most 5k laps.
Congratulations to all who took part and a special shout out to Nigel for the great photos 📸
The top three finishers were…
🥇 Matt. 4.5 laps
🥈 Adam 4 laps
🥉 Amy 3 laps
🤪 It was another great swim session last night. We used ping pong balls in our technique drills to help us achieve good hand entry position 👍
It was also great to see the progress some of our newer members have made.

Another great swim session last night at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and an opportunity to finally present the award for Contribution to the Club 🏆 to Carole Leybourne in recognition of all her hard work and for looking after our mental wellbeing during lockdown with her yoga sessions 🧘♀️ ❤️ 👏
