A lovely little selection of things to make, for yourself or as a gift and have lots of chitter chatter with your friends. As I heard a chap say once, as he passed a group of chattering ladies.... "All right luvs, you lay 'em, I'll sell 'em!' π
A beautiful plate created by one of our lovely customers, Julie.
On the back is the most stunning poem. The attention to detail is so thoughtful with all military divisions and all eras featured.
And yet, the world is still at war. Since the end of WWI in 1918, over 200 wars have taken place worldwide.
In Auschwitz a sign by Georges Santanaya says "If we do not learn from history, we are destined to repeat it."
Lest We forget. Thank you Julie, for the gorgeous piece of work. We will share your poem on Sunday.
Morning everyone.
LEST WE FORGET.
Please join us on Friday for a brew and a slice for The Poppy Appeal.
Every penny goes in the Royal British Legion pot so please bring cash! Donations of your choice for tea, coffee and cake or fresh oven to table scones. We can only seat 6 people, but hope to raise a few pounds for the Royal British Legion.
Never a day goes by that I don't think how lucky I am to live with freedom afforded to us by so many. We are protected daily by continued brave servicemen and women defending us by land, sea and air, doing things we don't know the half of to protect our freedom and liberty. We don't know the half of it.
And in the morning, we will remember them. All of them. All the wars.
Love you lot. See you on Friday π

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
We love good men. Our dad's are the guys who show us how to do stuff. Who tell the worst but funniest jokes. They protect us. They are good listeners and have wise words.
My dad, Len, taught me 'To thine own self be true'. That advice has never failed me. He was fun, adventurous, strong and kind. Let's celebrate the great men in our lives. Big love to you all.
Sorry for any inconvenience today (Friday). I have never been to an outdoor gig before. Huge thanks to Billy and Georgie who are taking Sam and I to this amazing evening on Plymouth Hoe.

Just look at this photo. How young are the men who went to DDay 80 years ago, at 5am this morning?
Many of them had been on the landing craft for over 12 hours or more, bobbing around in the swell. The bottom of the boat filled with vomit. When they landed, they had to jump into the sea, with 60lb packs facing a barrage of incoming fire from surprised enemy troops.
The sea turned red with the blood of their comrades.
Can you imagine my son, your sons, their sons fighting to liberate Europe from fascism. Never coming home.
I will NEVER forget them. I will ALWAYS be grateful for the freedom I have today. I will NEVER understand anyone who takes their liberty for granted, those who treat others so badly, lack of respect, greed, entitlement. I simply don't get it.
Would we, today be prepared to sacrifice so much? We can be and do so much better for each other. We MUST NEVER FORGET. I will be forever grateful to the Great Generation. Honestly, we must look back to be able to move forward in this challenging world. We must BE KIND.
At Auschwitz there is a sign by Georges Santanaya. It says "Those who forget history are destined to repeat it."
If I am quiet today, a little reflective, it is because I am trying to understand. (Free cuddles and tea available today).
Be kind. So many young men died for our freedom to do what we want, say what we want. At least, let's use our freedom with kindness.
