I cried big ugly tears on my run yesterday. Don't know why I'm sharing but this morning I thought of the below and just wanted to share. Running helps so much!
"The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!"

Well done to everyone who smashed the Great North Run today! 🏃‍♀️🎉 Throwback to me 10 years ago – yes, I know I’ve doubled in size! 😂 But it’s all about the journey, not the destination. Super proud of everyone who took part today, keep inspiring! 💪✨

Back at it after nearly 4 weeks off the road! 🏃‍♂️ I broke my toe playing football (oops 😅), and while it’s not 100% healed, I managed to test it out with a steady 5k today. Felt good to be moving again! 🙌 Taking it slow, but grateful to be on the comeback trail.

Has anyone been to Prague? Did you take cash or can you get away with using card?

Few action shots from Burnley Parkrun yesterday. Been struggling with pain in my right foot when trying for any kind of intensity lately. It was no different yesterday and wanted to stop after the 1st lap! I slowed down and it helped.

Oh Hi 👋

Still been running. I've jumped on the Runna hype. Anyone else tried it? I had to tweak few things, I was trying to say I only wanted to run 3 times a week and the distance was scary for each run. So I've upped it to 4 and getting along better with it. Getting out early mornings while it's hot 🥵

Monday night long run... The run I had been putting off, the run I definitely wouldn't have done if I was training on my own! 18k with 3k tempo at the 10k mark. Just took water with me, run was probably about a mile too long with no fuel. Glad I got it done!

Not got out as much as I'd liked this week. It's probably helped my legs, but not my head! Went with the 26min pacer at Burnley Parkrun this morning who kept me very honest. Struggled to hang on to her in the middle, but came in well under in the end. Hoping I can go sub 25mins at next weeks podium5k!

Wow, it was a warm one yesterday! 10.5miles in the afternoon sun! Threw 2km tempo in to mix things up in the middle!

Headed over the border to Todmorden for a steady long run this morning. 8 mile out and back route to Hebden Bridge. Really enjoyable in the drizzle.

Birthday Parkrun 🎂 Beautiful morning for it! I'm blaming being another year older for being a min slower than last week 😅. Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend 😀

So lucky to have this as my back yard! Lovely 3mile lunchtime run today. Just took it easy and admired my surroundings.

Lovely run around Blaise Castle estate this morning.

It was a lovely morning to be out on the trails 👣 The pictures never do it justice!
But boy you can tell I've not been out on those hills enough this year 🥵. My notes from todays run read "Really sore calves, stopped to stretch, still struggled had to rethink route at 3k. Sore feet, gritted teeth. Had to walk up hill, calves and feet were killing. Found it easy enough coming down the hills, nice relaxed social run" If all trail runs could be down hill please...

Beautiful morning for a Parkrun at Towneley today! I should've got up and out earlier for a planned trail run 👣 But couldn't say no to having a few supporters at Parkrun. Didn't really enjoy the actually run that much. Was trying to get a time and didn't enjoy the pace in the heat! Got a seasons best which I'm okay with.
Will definitely be on those trails for an easy pace and gorgeous views tomorrow!

Is Tempo Thursday a thing? 2nd Tempo run in a week. No, I don't know whats wrong with me either!
How it started v how it finished. Hope you're all having a great week!

Two for Tuesdays! No, not the Pizza... 🍕
Got out for a tempo run on my own. Found it difficult to hold pace towards the end, but no ni**les after the weekend which is good news! Then got an easy session on the grass in with my mate mixed up with some hill strides!

Burnley Parkrun yesterday, had to abort after the 1st lap due to a ni**le I picked up playing footy during the week. I'll be honest, it was annoying & I was frustrated because I wanted to get a good time. Been running lately with a mate & he got a pb yesterday. His response to me was really humbling. For me, it shows what the running community is all about! We are all out here doing our best supporting each other 😀

Avenham Amble. Great to get out for a social run with Craig and Dan earlier! Think I enjoyed the Mocha and cake more than the run though 😀

Saturday Long run! 10 mile tour of Burnley. It's been a while since I've gone that sort of distance. But actually quite enjoyed it. Been a tough week and was good to get some serious miles in my legs and clear my head! Hope you are all having a great Bank Holiday!

Was lucky enough to take part in the world famous Wray Scarecrow 10km road race on Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed it so much I've already entered again for next year. Read all about it in my latest blog post.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to take part in the prestigious Wray Scarecrow Festival 10k
It was tough going especially on the huge uphill a few kilometres in! Was great to see Danny Murphy smashing it! Looking forward to a full team outing with Craig Tango Oscar next year!

Sprinting for the lane on Saturday! Not so fast today through the finish line over a steady flat 8 miles. Not sure I'm mentally prepared for a hilly Wray 10k on Saturday afternoon! Wish i could have my eyes closed all the way around 😅

So glad I'm back out running!
Sneaky bonus run with my little mate. We tried the BMX track and the flat bike track. He's a good pacemaker for about 20...
Getting back out there after a bit of time off. Was a lovely evening for it.
Happy Friday!
