What a fantastic last few days it has been, delivering 8 x Mental Health & Wellbeing Workshops to all the staff at Russell Roof Tiles across 3 different sites.
Thank you to everyone working there for their friendly welcome, their openness and their active participation to the sessions. It's been great to initiate conversations on this topic and have everyone's involvement in how we can all together work towards ensuring a good mental health & wellbeing.

Focusing on what we do well, rather than what we donโt do as well (and as human beings, we canโt do it all perfectly), is a first step to positivity. ๐ธWhen your current circumstances change at work or at home (or both), in a way that directly impacts you and breaks your safety net, do you find that it is hard to keep smiling and draw the energy to get through it?
Life is a constant change and while we canโt always control whatโs happening and changing around us, we can learn to control whatโs happening inside us. Stress has become an all too prevalent disease, and unfortunately all of us will experience some level of stress during our life. When experienced infrequently and if managed well, it can fuel us to surpass ourselves, but when subjected to continual stress, it can be overwhelming and significantly affect our mental, physical and emotional health.
During my life, I have experienced times when the stress was really getting me down and was creating physical reactions such as skin rashes, allergies and digestion issues. For me, the major way to overcome the issue was to stop bottling it up (hoping it will go away on its own), and talk it out. Talking helped me release all the emotions tied up into it, gain a new perspective, get concrete support to better plan and manage my work, and reassess the (high) expectations I was putting on myself.
Based on my own experiences, I have designed the coaching program โCalm Journeyโ (full details can be found via this link: https://neostara.com/the-calm-journey/) to help others transition from stress and busyness towards calm and peace. In this journey, we look at incorporating calm through breathing and surroundings, building successful planning, boosting confidence and positivity, and more importantly making YOU and your health a priority.

At a young age, Iโve never felt or viewed myself as a confident person, but the belief that others had in me, especially my family and close friends, has given me the courage to keep pushing forward and break away from my doubts and shyness. ๐ธWhen you put yourself out there by taking the brave step to speak to โthatโ person, apply for a job or step outside of your comfort zone, do you put high expectations on yourself to be successful?
๐ธIf it doesn't go the way youโd hoped, do you blame yourself for every single mistake you believe you have made, do you question everything you did and said, perhaps also have a sense that you have failed?
When those situations happen, it can be useful to acknowledge your mistakes to see what you can learn from them, but instead of dwelling on them, don't forget to also praise yourself on what you did well and on the courage it took you to put yourself out there. Perhaps it wasnโt the right moment, right person or right fit.
Setbacks are part of our life journey, and while itโs ok and natural to feel disappointed, they will make you stronger and will allow for you to be better prepared for when you do connect to the right person, company or opportunity.

๐ธDo you doubt yourself if some people donโt respond the way you expected or donโt respond at all?
It is even harder to avoid those self-doubt feelings in the online world, where we canโt interact as transparently with the people we are trying to reach. We canโt engage in conversations as empathically, and we canโt see the other personโs reactions as truthfully. In any case, we cannot control what others think.
But we can learn to reset our own expectations, control our reactions, and own the reasons and principles behind what we say and do.
