I first appeared on Rougham Estate’s radar back in 2021 after gaining permission from Ady for a private shoot in their sunflower field.
Following some discussions, I landed what felt like the ultimate job for a Christmas lover: photographing the Christmas Shop at Blackthorpe Barn.
Famous for its bespoke and tastefully curated selection of all things Christmas (with every item hand-selected by Ady himself), it’s like stepping into Father Christmas’ grotto.
Since then, Rougham Estate, an active farm spanning over 2,700 acres, has delivered a masterclass in diversification, quickly becoming the go-to destination in Suffolk.
With the estate grounds opening up for walks, alongside the opening of Roots Café and The Garden Room Shop, my work with them expanded to capture everything they have to offer. From food photography in the café and product/lifestyle shots for the shop to documenting crafts workshops, fairs, and sunflower and pumpkin field experiences—the list goes on. Rougham Estate continues to adapt and grow, constantly creating new customer experiences.

This generative AI on Photoshop is ridiculous. Took all of about 2 mins, not a bad job at first glance. Wanted more of an army generals hat on Pooch but wasn’t about to spend ages on it 🤣😮💨

Hi
I'm excited to share a few behind-the-scenes shots from a recent photoshoot with the lovely Hannah Alexander. We were aiming to capture some fresh images for her website, and I think we nailed it!
Shooting on location, like the beautiful West Stow Country Park, is always an adventure, but it also presents its own set of challenges. Every shot is a learning opportunity, and it's a process of experimentation to see what works and what doesn't. Sometimes, things don't go as planned, and that's just part of the creative process. It could be a technical issue, like lighting or composition, or it could be something more subjective, like capturing the right mood or vibe.
My approach to photography is to create a relaxed and comfortable environment where my clients can be themselves and let their personalities shine through. I try to avoid forced poses or setups and aim to capture natural and authentic moments.
Finding a photographer who understands your vision and can put you at ease is key to getting the shots you want. That's why I try to connect with my clients and create an enjoyable experience that results in amazing photos.
Had to pull over to appreciate this... didn't quite capture it how I saw it. From the road, it looked like a monster cloud tornado pouring out of the cathedral 🌪
Hey guys, have you ever heard of the hidden church of Fornham St. Genevieve? It's one of those ancient ruins that's shrouded in mystery, and only the tower remains standing after all these centuries, dating way back to the 14th century.
Now, I heard about this place through a "friend," who shall remain nameless for legal reasons. Let's just say that this person may have gone exploring there recently, even though there were big "no trespassing" signs all over the place. But hey, rules are just suggestions, right…?
Apparently, there was a house literally right next to it… fancy having that kind of history hidden in your back garden.
Weird to think that the Battle of Fornham was fought on the same spot in the 12th century. I can only imagine what it was like to be there back then. Probably a lot less peaceful than it is now, that's for sure.
But seriously, I wouldn't recommend going there yourself unless you want to risk getting in trouble. And let's be honest, nobody wants to end up in trouble over a church tower, no matter how old and cool it may be.
