Animal Rebellion Bury St. Edmunds
We are the Bury St. Edmunds chapter of the mass volunteer movement Animal Rebellion.
Animal Rebellion uses methods of non-violent direct action to demand the transition to a plant-based food system. Our civil disobedience is employed as a creative strategy in many ways, putting pressure on the government and corporations to tell the truth about the animal agriculture and fishing industries, their injustices against animals, and their responsibility in causing climate catastrophe.
Because the science is clear: the animal agriculture and fishing industries are leading to climate and ecological breakdown and social collapse. We’ve tried voting, signing petitions, even marching. But we’re running out of time. So Animal Rebellion has a clear mandate as we work to transition to a plant-based food system. We cannot fix the climate emergency without ending the animal emergency.
Foregrounding and centring the leadership and voices of previously marginalised groups, and celebrating the leadership of people of colour, women, indigenous voices, and animal resistance, Animal Rebellion also acts in solidarity with Extinction Rebellion and other non-violent groups to bring about change and end the status quo.
