Less than one week to go. Monday 19th August.
Some of you may have seen our post a few months ago about Jack and his charity run.
Jack is a chef at 1921, Jack has been with us for 2 years now and always spoke highly about the Burnt Chef project.
For those that don't know, the Burnt Chef project is a charity which helps support those in the hospitality industry who struggle with their mental health. With the long unsocial hours, the heat, the stress, it can take a toll on your mental health.
Jack is running from his home in Sudbury to work at 1921 in Bury St Edmunds. As you can imagine, he cannot run directly on the road so he is taking back roads where it will be safer. This means he is looking to run 17miles.
Jack has a target to raise £1,000 and he is extremely close.
It would mean a lot of you could spare a few moments to check out Jack's fundraising page and donate.
If not, we fully understand and appreciate you taking the time to read this post which is a charity close to many people's hearts within the industry.

Our wonderful Chef, Jack, is raising money for an incredible cause.
The Burnt Chef Project
https://fundraise.theburntchefproject.com/s/398/394/s
Heard of it?
If not, let me explain. The Burnt Chef Project was set up with the intention of eradicating mental health stigma with hospitality.
It's no secret that the hospitality industry requires long unsociable hours. This can be extremely tough on someone's mental health. Although many of us love the industry and are proud of what we do, it doesn't mean there aren't tough days.
Did you know, 84% of those in hospitality have experienced mental health issues within their career.
46% of those would not feel comfortable talking about their health concerns.
Let's work together in building awareness and most importantly support eachother.
Please support Jack in his charity run from his house in Sudbury to his work place at 1921. He will be completing this run on the 19th of August.
If you can support him by donating, we would be extremely grateful. If not, we completely understand and only ask that you wish him luck.
