This has to be one of my favourite locations to photograph. Though I havenāt yet included Kersey in any editorial work for I have a feeling that the upcoming Autumn/Winter edition might embrace old English charm; what do you think?
If youāre visiting Suffolk this summer, make sure to visit Lavenham and Kersey. Both are idyllic and frequently used for filming TV series, films, and documentariesāor, like me, for enchanting photo shoots with clients.
I adore the picturesque cottages adorned with roses and hollyhocks; theyāre simply delightful.

fibromyalgia; can you relate? š«¶š¼
Today marks International Fibromyalgia Day, prompting me to share my firsthand experiences with this often overlooked condition. Is there still a taboo surrounding it, perhaps due to a lack of understanding in the healthcare system or society at large?
At 21, a serious car accident became the catalyst for my journey with fibromyalgia, nearly nineteen years later. Despite recovering with a year of physiotherapy and starting a career in lecturing, things took a downturn after the birth of our daughter. One weekās postpartum, I was blue lighted to the hospital suspected of having a brain tumor (which wasnāt the case) only to discover my body was in shock due to some placenta being left behind. Postnatal depression added to the burden, yet I threw myself into work full-time, a decision I now regret.
Three years later, after the birth of our youngest, my health deteriorated further, with constant fatigue, pain, dizziness, and a feeling of detachment plagued me daily. After six agonising months, I sought medical help and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, ME, and endometriosis. Nearly a decade has passed, and every day still feels like an uphill battle. Despite being advised to undergo a hysterectomy in 2020, fear of relapse has kept me from proceeding.
People often comment on my busyness, unaware that itās a coping mechanism. If I stop, the pain and mental fog overwhelm me, yet overexertion leads to relapse. Medication has become a lifeline for me over the past decade, although I strive to find balance between living fully and being gentle with myself.
To those who, like me, have spent a decade grappling with these conditions, I understand. Despite outward appearances, we often feel like a mess inside. To those newly diagnosed, donāt lose hope. It does get better, but it requires finding your rhythm and listening to your body.
Iām always here if you need someone to talk to, Love, Sophie x

nest was also featured in our summer 22 where our readers learned more about Ana and her journey here at Spinks. We both have a passion for vintage, antiques and of course, preloved items.
