What is REVERSE balayage? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think as hairdressers sometimes we forget you don’t know our lingo and throw all these daunting words at you in the chair and your head must be mush 😂

Reverse balayage is basically a balayage but backwards so instead of adding a lightner to create brighter tones through the hair we add darker tones to the hair that’s already light. E.g. adding brunette to blonde to create more depth and bring the tone of the hair down. This will then look like a normal balayage.

This is perfect for someone wanting a more natural look, a more seemless grow out with less maintenance or if you’re wanting to give your hair a break from bleach and blonding agents but still wanting some blonde to show through.

Honestly the amount of curly or flicky blows I do in the salon is a joke I just love them so much but a lot of the time my clients leave in pins so I don’t have many pics to show you guys 🫶🏼

What do Pincurls do though?

• Prolongs the curls and allows them to set
• Stops the curls from dropping whilst getting ready
• Encourages more volume in the hair
• Perfect if your appointment is a lot earlier than when you need to be ready (some clients even sleep in theirs)

CEO SLEEPOUT 2023 🤍

I’ve tried writing this post so many times today with no luck finding the words on how to explain how surreal and humbling this experience really was.
I had no idea how difficult the sleepout was going to be and the waves of emotions I’d go through during and after. I had so much love and respect for the homeless anyway but after lastnight it’s reached a whole new level. You honestly have no idea how inhumane their living conditions are until you experience it for yourself, luckily for me I could leave and had the luxury of going home at 6am and let me tell you I was counting down the minutes all night long. Being stripped of your valuables and holding on to every layer of clothing possible is no way for anyone to live and the stats in the UK alone are just something I can’t get my head around. It was an honour to work with other charities such as Barnabus and Walking with the wounded raising just under 50k collectively 🙌🏻🙌🏻

THANKYOU to everyone who donated and shared our posts that money will make such a difference you have no idea 🫶🏼 Next time you see a homeless person give them a smile, talk to them.. they don’t just want for money they want to be seen as people.. let’s break the stigma and remember that it could be any of us on the streets 271,000 of us to be exact 💔

On Monday 23rd Oct I’ll be joining my colleagues from Haircuts for Homeless and sleeping rough for the night no matter the conditions in just the clothes on our backs and a sleeping bag 😅
We are lucky enough to experience this for only one night unlike our clients but we hope this will raise awareness for our chosen charities and the work they do.

Our charity, Haircuts4Homeless is a group of hairdressers and barbers that offer our time free to cut hair and give what often is an unaffordable luxury to someone who is experiencing homelessness.
We give dignity and self esteem back to someone who has lost this along with their confidence. A lot of people think its just a haircut, but it really is so much more and we’re just as lucky to do this for them as they are having us coming into their shelters etc 🤍
