Bury Model Boat Club - BMBC

Anybody else seen the spectacular skies over Bury tonight?!

Just a reminder that the Kirklees Model Boat Club will be holding an open day at their club in Batley this coming Sunday.

I’ll be there to represent the Bury Club so if you fancy sailing on a different water for the day, let me know please? Any models, except IC and high speed welcome.

Steam Boat Convention and Mountfleet Models Open Day
Will take place on Sunday 12h May 2024 09.30 am to 4.00 pm at Wilton Park Batley WF17 8JH
An event open to any steam powered models and any Mountfleet Models. Please check our website in the future for requirements for steam powered models. Boiler testing, safety valve testing etc. Can you please check with your club and your club's insurance regarding testing of gas tanks. Up-to-date paperwork will be required to be shown on the day. Around 2 p.m. we are hoping to have as many steam models on the lake as possible. Tables may be available on request. Further details can be found on our Club website, Model Boat Mayhem site and the modelling press. Anyone who wishes to attend with any type of model will also be most welcome, but the main theme is steam powered models and models by Mountfleet. Military models will be on display and operating during the day.

Hi all, well the sun came out and so did the model boaters and the public!

Also, mentioned at the AGM, we wanted to fly the club flag on the flag pole near the club house, problem is, the rope was jammed inside the pole and couldn’t be lowered to allow the flag to be fitted. Anyhow, after a lot of effort, due to years of rust, Goo and myself literally removed the pole mounting bolts lowered the complete pole, fitted a flag, then with help from Dale and Richard, repositioned the pole, result is we now have the club flag flying, or at least we will when the wind returns🤣
