Today is Small Business Saturday and it’s been great to see so many people on the high street.

This year it feels more important as we face the challenges of rising prices, increased business rates (yes we have to pay them) and larger energy bills with no support from the Government.

At the same time we still see the large corporate Pet business (you know who) showing their lack of ethics with their supply base and the big online market place where everyone shops continue to grow in dominance.

Your local shops are an important part of the community, we have many customers who come in for a talk, we have watched as families grow up and get to know our customers as more than just a faceless sale.

During lockdown when everyone shopped locally we saw just how many people in Ramsbottom there is with pets. Sadly in the last couple of years people have stopped using us again and the difference is huge.
