We’ve all got to start somewhere 💫

I’m truly honoured to share my story. A journey that began with a tragic loss and transformed into a passion for helping others. After the passing of my beloved papa, I faced a whirlwind of challenges, including the theft of his gold bracelet during a house robbery, which had been my lifeline during tough times. That bracelet, valued at over £2,000 provided crucial support for me as a struggling teen with no family or financial backing.

When I received my insurance claim of £4,500, I saw an opportunity to honour my father’s legacy and create something meaningful. With limited funds, I opened my first salon, transforming recycled furniture and painting the floors with black garage floor paint. It was a humble beginning, but it fueled a dream that has grown into a thriving business over the last decade.

Today, my salon has become more than just a place for hairdressing; it’s a nurturing space where I mentor aspiring hairdressers, offering government-funded NVQ courses to those eager for a chance in life. We also create free wigs for women battling cancer, relying solely on donations to make this happen. This work is close to my heart, and I lead with the integrity my father instilled in me—valuing people above all else.

Despite the setbacks we’ve faced, my belief in our mission has always remained, to lift and empower. I know there may be many who doubt, but we can’t be among them. We must first believe in ourselves. I am proud that our services are delivered with love, and our commitment to the community is unconditional.

I appreciate the opportunity to share my story on behalf of and hope to inspire others to believe in themselves, lift each other up and create a positive impact, because as we know it only takes one positive change to make a difference.
