This was the last wedding I'll be working, and what an absolute beauty it was. An absolute joy to be a part of. One of those weddings that's just full of utter love, kindness and thoughtfulness. And I wouldn't have expected anything less because Stormme and Colin are all of those things and more. Congratulations!

We've flown the coop (well, hopped in a car!) to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend in the enchanting countryside. Imagine rolling meadows, babbling brooks, and maybe even a mischievous pixie or two!

Don't fret if your hair is feeling a tad less than magical in our absence. We'll be back in the salon, wielding our scissors and wands (okay, maybe just combs) again on Thursday, ready to weave some hair-raisingly wonderful styles.

For a very long time we have dreamed of having a community centre – a place the young people we support can call home. And yesterday, this finally came true! We have ambitious plans to create a fantastic space for the community, where young people can attend regular events and activities, as well as a safe space where young people can simply ‘drop in’ and feel at home.

Here are some exciting things to look forward to, which will be available for autistic young people who are members of our community (access to our community is currently free for autistic young people across Greater Manchester):

⭐ A variety of social activities based on interests including Pokémon, gaming, board games, arts and crafts, anime, movie nights and more!

⭐ Workshops, activities and talks for young people, focused on helping them to understand autism and learning how to advocate for their needs.

⭐ A space to work on advocacy projects with our young people and the wider community so we can create more resources and further increase understanding of autism.

⭐ We know that a lot of our members are not currently attending school or have difficulty attending school and we are keen to offer support to these young people, whose needs are not being met elsewhere. Therefore, we will be running a learning community focusing on Self Directed Education. Rather than expecting young people to follow a curriculum when they are struggling, the aim is to help young people to regain their passion for learning and recognise that who they are is ok.

⭐ Face to face training for professionals, parents and anyone else who feels they may benefit from this.

⭐ We aim to have a library full of affirming books, resources and more for young people and their families to access.

Where'd your favorite hair fairy flit off to? Well, let me tell you a tale of burnout battles and whimsical wins!

Truth be told, I've been wrestling with some nasty overwhelm gremlins lately. Turns out, even sustainable sorceresses need a recharge sometimes! ⚡️ But fear not, the magic haven that is my salon and apothecary is still brewing up beautiful things. ✨ From potion-perfect hair transformations to eco-friendly elixirs that nourish both your locks and the planet, the good vibes are flowing strong!

So, while my social media haven has been a tad quieter than a pixie's whisper, know that behind the scenes, I'm still conjuring up whimsical wonders. And trust me, when the burnout fog clears and the overwhelm monster is vanquished, I'll be back with a pixie-dust explosion of hair magic and earth-loving goodness! ✨

Forget the cupid's arrows and heart-shaped boxes, darling! This Valentine's Day, we're celebrating a love that transcends fleeting romance: the love for ourselves! ‍

Imagine, instead of waiting for someone to bring you roses, you treat yourself to a bouquet of wildflowers you pick yourself. Swap the fancy restaurant reservation for an indoor picnic cosying up with your favourite book, a delicious steaming mug of tea, and our fave furries. Ditch the pressure of finding the "perfect" date and have a dance party in your PJs, belting out your favourite power ballads like the royalty you are!

This Valentine's Day, let's rewrite the script. Indulge in a bubble bath filled with laughter and self-appreciation. Write yourself a love letter highlighting your strengths and dreams. Treat your body like the temple it is with nourishing food and movement that makes you feel good. Remember, self-love is the ultimate act of rebellion against societal expectations and a powerful source of joy. ✨

Don't get me wrong, love and connection are beautiful things. But this February 14th, let's remember that strong, independent folks are like delicious cakes: complete and scrumptious on their own! So raise a glass (filled with your favourite beverage, of course!) to the most important love of all: the love for you! Cheers, beauties!

Calling all fellow adventurers of life!

Just popping out from under a mountain of paper packing and dissolvable peanuts (seriously, where do they ALL come from?! ) to say HELLO from my new nest (well, almost - picture boxes precariously balanced and furniture conducting a particularly chaotic ballet).

Moving is, as they say, an adventure...involving copious amounts of cardboard, questionable negotiation skills with rogue tape rolls, and enough dust bunnies to knit a sweater for Mount Everest. But amidst the chaos, there's also this incredible buzz of new beginnings, fresh paint dreams, and the promise of untold stories within these (soon-to-be) unboxed walls. ✨

Speaking of which, how are YOU, dear friend? Tell me all about your winter wonders! Are you hibernating like a cozy bear, or maybe ice-skating your way through frosty fun? ⛸️ Are your eyelashes rivaling icicles in their magnificence (because winter wind = major lash drama, amirite?!)?

As for me, I'm eagerly eyeing the calendar, already dreaming of spring sunshine and blossoming possibilities. The thought of throwing open the windows and letting the fresh air dance through my new space fills me with such joy!

No, I've embarked on a whimsical quest to rejuvenate my soul - a dip in the icicled seas and a waltz through emerald forests. My email inbox may be on siesta, but my spirit is pirouetting with constellations and serenading sunsets.

Fear not. For while I frolic among ferns and flip-flop with the foamy waves, my trusty digital owl will keep watch. Urgent missives demanding immediate attention shall be relayed to a secret council of talking teacups (they brew a mean Earl Grey, you see).

But for the rest, let your messages frolic amongst the sea shells and chase fireflies in the inbox woods. I shall return, sun-kissed and story-laden, on 20th January. Until then, may your days be sprinkled with pixie dust and your emails sing with the joy of wind chimes!

Hows the NY started for you?
