🍂🍂🍂🍂 October Half Term 🍂🍂🍂🍂

As half term approaches we have some wonderful offerings for our 'Mini Wildlings' to enjoy with us up at the studio. We love to see the creativity and happiness time at the studio brings for our budding ceramicists.

As mothers we often find ourselves discussing the technology our children are immersed in each day. We share our worries of the lack of social connection as they get older and both Sarah and I are keen for our young ones to have that space away from a screen where they can let their imaginations run wild. I know for Arthur, Olive and Jesse time at the studio is full of excitement - a chance to play with clay and share the space with other 'Mini Wildlings' no holiday is complete without a trip!

Join us at the studio for an informative evening, giving you the knowledge and confidence to enter into the wonderful world of Winter Wild Swimming.

Wild swimming has become increasingly popular over the past few years (we at the studio swim all year round, and many of you may have joined us at our regular wild dips) There are numerous reasons for this: recreation, fitness, wellbeing, social or to compete in open water swimming events.

Health benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, increased lung capacity, enhanced mental wellbeing through exposure to nature, and potential improvements in immune function. Cold water swimming can trigger the release of endorphins, which are your body's natural "feel-good" chemicals. Endorphins are released in response to various stressors, including exposure to cold water. They can contribute to a sense of euphoria, improved mood and reduced perception of pain. Engaging in cold water swimming regularly may lead to increased endorphin production over time, potentially enhancing your overall sense of wellbeing and mental resilience. For these reasons, it can help to treat low mood and depression.

Engaging in frequent cold water swimming sessions, whether through swims or dips, unveils a sense of appreciation for the outdoors. It significantly benefits the mind, body and spirit. Few experiences are as grounding as swimming while witnessing such magical sights such as the vivid blue and orange hues of a kingfisher darting by or being serenaded by the cheerful chattering of finches and other bids amidst trees and bushes.

It is however crucial to counterbalance the extensive advantages with the potential hazards inevitable to exposure to cold water swimming. This workshop will cover everything you need to know about cold water swimming, giving you the knowledge and confidence to swim outside with joy all year round.

There will of course be cups of herbal tea and a sweet treat during the evening, as is customary at the studio!

We have just 2 spaces left on our 'Indian Block Printing Workshop' with Mils and Mum. These workshops are always so popular and are suitable for all abilities.

Join us at Wildling Studio as we learn the traditional and ancient craft of Indian Wood Block Printing with Shan and Millie of Mils & Mum.

Take a moment in the calm of the studio surrounded by fellow Wildlings to learn a new skill or fine tune an existing one as we explore colour, repeat patterns and design, inspired by the beautiful natural wonders around us.

After demonstrations and plenty of time to practice we will be printing onto aprons which you will take home with you at the end of the workshop. The aprons are made with 100% organic heavy cotton with a natural finish that lends itself to life as a crafting apron, gardening and off course cooking too.

'What a find! I recently attended a ceramics workshop for 'Mini Wildlings' with my son and daughter and we had the best time! Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and kept all the children engaged during the workshop. My two were delighted to be let lose with clay and given the chance to create their own butterfly feeders. In a world full of technology I am delighted to have found a space where we can be creative together without a screen in sight - my two are already asking when we can return! Thank you Sarah for welcoming us in to your studio and inspiring the next generation!' - Review July 2024

🌕🌕🌕🌕 The Buck Moon is a mystic powerhouse and a time to reconnect with nature 🌕🌕🌕🌕

As the sun reaches its full potential, so do the young bucks.

Their new antlers emerge to greet the light of day and are a potent symbol of their strength. This is where the name for this Full Moon comes from.

The Buck Moon is a mystic powerhouse and a time to reconnect with nature.

Be like the youthful Buck, at one with the earth & the changing seasons.

A chance for us to spend time outside and rediscover the wonder of our surroundings

As always in my circles, as sisters we gather to delve deeper into ourselves, our hearts, to ground, lift & drive each other forward.

We will begin with an energy talk, use crystal within ritual, meditation/Spells/ Pranayama, a coming together with Journalling based around the Buck Moon & astrological sign of earthy Capricorn. From the Journalling we have the option to share with one another in a contained safe space.

All that is spoke in the circle, remains in the circle & always optional.

A truly sacred space and container for those who attend to be witnessed without fear or judgement.

Free from judgement, competition, demands, expectation, pressure or noise. In circle everyone is equal and we can be together.

Our gatherings use intention & offerings that have all been lovingly created from our heart space to yours, what takes place in this Full Moon Sisterhood Gathering is to carry you through the rest of the season.

Weather allowing, we hope to gather outside to really feel the magic of the land.

We are delighted to be hosting our second 'Seasonal Singing for Wellbeing' here at Wildling Studio. We had such fun at our last session gathering together outside and playing with our voices, with so many of us not confident singers there was a real sense of support, community and fun!

Moving with the seasons, Wildling Studio opens it's doors as a sanctuary for you to seek solace as you discover your voice and find nourishment in community.

For many of us finding our voice is not easy and may be a lifelong task. And many of us have been programmed from infancy to stay quiet, invisible even, so it can require great courage to step into their full power, and great boldness to use the voice they have been given.

Our aspiration is that these sessions will be a chance to discover and play with your voice whilst offering a chance for greater connection to the natural world through seasonal group singing. We hope to set in motion a real sense of community, using our voices for positive change and an increased sense of wellbeing.

You do not have to be able to sing already (I cannot sing a single tuneful note!). We will be gently and expertly guided by local singing teacher and choir leader Alicia Rendle. Where weather allows we will gather outside around the fire pit and enjoy a drink and sweet treat together.

For more info and to sing with us head to
