Big news, skaters! CUISC stash is dropping on Monday!

We’ve been working with the wonderful people at Redbird who have come up with a huge range of CUISC-branded items for us, available in multiple colours and with the option of having your initials embroidered too. This will make you super identifiable, perfect for getting crushbridges in Mainsburys and identifying each other on and off the ice!

It was amazing to see so many new (and familiar!) faces at the rink this morning! Next time we will make sure to organise a meeting point so that we can all find each other at the start of the session! Feel free to tag yourselves in the photos

Hi skaters,

It’s confirmed! We will be holding a Refreshers Skate on Saturday 29th January at the Cambridge Ice Arena at 11:30am. Whether you skated regularly with us last term or have only recently discovered the club, we’d love for you to join us!

You can book your ticket through the rink’s online booking system, which you can find here: https://bookings.better.org.uk/location/cambridge-ice-arena/public-skating/2022-01-29/by-time. There aren’t many spaces left for the 11:30 slot on Saturday, so please book the 11:40 or 11:50 slot if these run out.

The rink has agreed to give us student discount for this skate, so you can select a child ticket when you book online (£7.50 + skate hire), however you *must* remember to bring your student ID and booking confirmation to show on arrival at the rink. If you don't have student ID you'll need to purchase an adult ticket (£9.50 + skate hire). We would also recommend that you do a LFT before coming if possible, as the COVID rates in Cambridge seem to be quite high at the moment.

Can’t wait to see you all on Saturday! CUISC love ❤️

We had so much fun at the rink yesterday with the Cambridge University Hungarian Society! Thank you so much to everyone who came along - here's to many more swaps in the future!

15/11/2021

Hello skaters!

Our next planned skate is a skating swap with the Hungarian Society on Saturday 20th November at 4 - 5:30 pm. This will again be a casual skate, but as it’s a swap there will also be the chance to meet some new faces!

The sign up link is https://forms.gle/oV2zGznR5R68mbA66. You can book online yourselves however the Cambridge Ice Arena website doesn’t offer a student discount, so we recommend using the bank details on our sign up form to prebook with us!💚

See you on Saturday, CUISC love💚

Hello skaters,

It's lovely to see the continued interest in Cambridge University Ice Skating Club!

🎃 HALLOWEEN SESSION 👻

- Slightly late notice (the email kept not sending...), but we're planning an (informal, again) skate session 15:00-16:30 on Saturday 30th October in optional (but encouraged!) Halloween dress-up!

- As with last time, this would be an informal non-coached skate, but we are in the process of arranging logistics with a professional coach, ideally on Wednesdays, so please bear with us on that.

- A ticket should cost £5 plus £2.50 skate hire: remember to ask for student discount! You will need to pay at the rink’s reception desk when you arrive, although booking online is also an option - and the rink is cashless.

- Eventually, the booking process will be done through us rather than the rink, and session tickets will be sold out, but we are currently waiting on some issues with accounts. They should not be sold out in-person yet at this point in the year, but expect that to be a possibility in the near future.

- Add your details to the form below to express your interest for Saturday: https://forms.gle/UZ5CdPWBCcVfceAd9

We understand that a lot of people will be very busy on the day before Halloween, so this may be cancelled if there is a lack of interest before Saturday. Keep an eye out for an email if it is.

🗺 DIRECTIONS 🧭

- We have a Facebook group for you to organise sharing an Uber to the rink if you don’t fancy paying for a bus or cycling: Cambridge University Ice Skating Club Uber Share

- The Newmarket Park & Ride bus leaves Drummer Street (near Emma in central Cambridge) every 10 minutes and drops you right outside the rink. A single ticket costs £2.80 and a return is £4.50. Details can be found here: https://cambridgeparkandride.info/newmarketroad.shtml

- If you’re cycling from Central Cambridge, we recommend going via Jesus Green and Midsummer Common and then joining the A1134 at the Tesco Superstore, as this avoids lots of busy roads. You can find the route here: https://goo.gl/maps/tP5TfBg4iQUTGryW8
