Hello, Blue Monday…it’s that time of year again.

Do you buy into the concept of one day a year that is particularly gloomier than others and the post-holiday blues hit the hardest? Now, let’s not get too caught up in the hype. Life is a fascinating journey, and every day brings its own shades of joy. How about grabbing the choice to rebel against something…who wants to follow the rules anyway? Not us!

Today could symbolise something completely different. It could be trying something new, connecting with someone special, or savouring the unique moments that make today extraordinary.

Create our own colourful Monday filled with positivity, gratitude, and a splash of adventure! We kinda like this; maybe we will start a trend…

We always talk about how ambitious we are because it’s that ambition that makes us tick. We love having goals and experiencing the challenge it takes to achieve them. It’s exciting.

But those ambitions are different for everyone. Some people want to be hugely successful and earn lots of money; others want a family or a swimming pool in their back garden. For us, it’s about seeing M T Property Management and Sourcing grow in every way possible and enjoying the journey along the way. That happiness has to be an absolute top priority over anything else.

Have you ever visited Ely? Maybe you are considering visiting for work or social reasons.
Ely is such a beautiful city, and everyone needs to experience everything it has to offer at least once in their lifetime. We insist 😆.

We have several properties located in the heart of Ely, all of which are no more than a short walk to Ely Cathedral, Tesco/Sainsbury superstore, city centre, loads of restaurants and cafes, and of course playgrounds for our little guests to enjoy with their lovely families. Ely is a city that has something for everyone, and that’s why we are proud to call it our home.

So, if it’s a trip that you have been considering for a while, then why not make it a reality?

How has everyone coped with the first week back at work? We only started back on Saturday, so we are still in the transition stage, but we are excited and eager about the new year ahead…

Everyone needs a break, but sometimes, all that daytime TV and rich food becomes too much. Getting back into a routine is good for our mental and physical well-being.

So here’s to a fantastic year ahead, and we look forward to working with existing clients again as well as building new relationships. Come and say hi, and let’s see if we would be a good fit.

It is jargon-busting day! But what are we talking about this time? 🤓

An inventory is one of the most important documents when it comes to any rental agreement. In its simplest form, a property inventory is a detailed and impartial record of the contents and condition of a rental property. It serves as a snapshot of the premises at the beginning of a tenancy, providing a clear and transparent overview for both landlords and tenants. Essentially, it’s a written and visual document that outlines the state of the property and its furnishings.

This inventory goes beyond a simple list; it includes a thorough description of each room, noting the condition of walls, floors, and fixtures. It also itemises furniture, appliances, and any existing damages. It also serves as a reference point throughout the tenancy, helping to resolve potential disputes over wear and tear or damages.

The purpose of a property inventory is to establish a baseline and protect the interests of both parties involved. For landlords, it safeguards their property investment, ensuring that any damages beyond normal wear and tear can be identified and rectified. In a nutshell, a property inventory is a fair and practical tool that should – in theory – benefit all parties and nurture a positive tenant/landlord relationship.

Are you an ambitious person? We are! We love to set goals, dream big and do everything we can to be proud of our achievements. But that doesn’t mean all of our goals are big ones.

Yes, we want the business to continue to grow and for our success to increase, but other dreams are important to us. Seeking happiness, finding that perfect work-life balance and trying to be the healthiest version of ourselves possible are also high up on the list.

What are your plans today? Not much, we hope!

Christmas isn’t just one day; it should be an opportunity to take some time out to do absolutely nothing…or at least very little. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a whole week (or two!) off work, but if you are one of the lucky ones, then take full advantage of it. These precious times don’t happen more than a handful of times a year.

We have made a good start on the Christmas chocolates, but we still have a way to go to really feel we have eaten the calories we really deserve. Right, enough chat…go and have some fun!

Just one more sleep until Christmas! I hope you are all ready and there is no last-minute dash to the shops for wrapping paper and sprouts…it’s more common than you think.

Amongst all the chaos, try to remember what tomorrow is all about: spending time with loved ones and appreciating everything around you. Have a fantastic few days!

We love what we do, but it is made all the more enjoyable when we hear that we are doing a good job. It is important that everyone in the process is happy…our clients, tenants, and everyone who works within the team.

Running a business and earning money is important; of course, it is. But there needs to be so much more to life. We should all strive to find that dream job that makes us happy, something that makes us jump out of bed in the morning with a zest for life. Here at MT Property Sourcing & Management, we work hard but also see the importance of talking time out to appreciate time with friends and family…and work on self-care. If we don’t take breaks as and when we need them, then we can’t be the best at what we do.

Our offices will be closed from the 18th of December to the 5th of January, with business as usual kicking off again from the 6th of January. We want, need and deserve a long break, so that is what we are taking. We hope you guys can find time to step away from work and just breathe.

Our work is hugely important to us, and we will be busy all week getting everything in place to shut the doors at the end of the weekend. January is set to be busy, and we want to be ready to go with all aspects of our health - mental and physical – in tip-top condition.

Did you know that MT Property Sourcing also offers cleaning contracts? This service was in high demand for a long time, and with the company’s continued growth, it made sense to grow the team and broaden our range of services.

Under the umbrella of ‘Cleaning Services’, we offer the following to our clients:

• Deep cleans (end of tenancy)
• Light cleans (end of departure)
• Regular weekly/monthly cleans
• Smoke removal (Ozening) – removes odours like ci******es, mould etc. COMING SOON.

All cleaning services are tailored to fulfil the needs of the owners of the service accommodation. A team of two people will attend the premises to ensure efficiency and high-quality service. We provide all necessary cleaning products, photos before and after cleaning, and a top-up of coffee, tea, and milk if the landlord wishes (for a fee). If there is a specific arrangement you want, then just ask.

Included in our cleaning services are oven cleaning, linen change, cleaning of common areas, and bathroom toilets. Our prices start from £50, and packages are available. To find out more, send us a message or give us a call.

The pandemic had a massive impact on the way we worked. Suddenly, everyone went from working in offices eight hours a day, five days a week, to working at home. But how did you feel about the change?

For many, it was a positive move. It meant they had less travel time, fewer travel costs, and more flexibility around family life; some even loved the perk of occasionally staying in their pjs all day (or so we have heard…). But there was - and still is - a huge percentage of people who felt lonely. They missed the buzz of an office environment and people to bounce ideas off without having to pick up the phone. Lunch at the local café and Friday night drinks were suddenly a thing of the past, too.

Whatever your thoughts, home working seems to be here to stay. It has saved money for many businesses not having to rent out as much (if any) office space, and the work-life balance they can offer their staff seems favourable.

Weekends are for reflecting on the week just gone, reviewing what has gone well and what could have gone better (because things never go smoothly all the time)…and planning the week ahead. Oh, and coffee…lots of coffee! Yep, we should really have our own table in Costa. We should definitely have shares in it. It’s all about the cappuccino; maybe with a slice of something highly calorific on the side. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone. The diet can start next week.
