Our Socials are open to all current and prospective Volunteers and, with our AGM coming up in March, this is a great opportunity for anyone wondering about taking on a steering group role to speak to our current steering group members about what this entails!

We would like to say goodbye and a massive thank you to Caroline Ward! Caroline has been a big part of Cambridge SCA for many many years, and she had left her mark and legacy on all those that she worked with and met.
We would also like to welcome our new Manager Nicky Massey. She is known to many as a community ambassador having previously been a Cambridge city councillor. Nicky is a domestic abuse campaigner, a charity trustee of domestic abuse charity Landlark and Abbey people, as well as a governor of Cambridge and Peterborough foundation trust. Having previously worked in charities, Nicky is very excited to be starting with SCA and working closely with student and partners on our existing and new projects.
Welcome back everyone! We are really looking forward to the new year and some new projects that are in the making, and we welcome you to volunteer for our amazing projects and make this year a great year to make a difference!
A big thank you to everyone for helping out at and taking part in our Christmas party 2022! We hope that you have enjoyed yourself and see you next year :)

Whether you’ve been able to participate in the project, if there are any barriers or if you would like to change projects – we can have a chat and find a solution. If things have changed and you’re no longer able to volunteer with us.
If you also have any expenses that need reimbursing, please send it to [email protected]
We have a great project over the Christmas holidays to go to, if you are still in Cambridge and would like to spend some time volunteering with children.
Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) run a youth club on Wednesday and Thursday evenings 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Our volunteers help organise and supervise activities for 11-16 year olds including sports, STEM experiments, arts and crafts and cooking. It is a low commitment placement – you don’t need to go every week or stay for the whole two hour session. Staff at WAY provide an induction session, then are on hand throughout the evening so no previous experience is required. It’s an 8 minute train ride from Cambridge and SCA will refund all travel costs!
A big thank you to all our awesome volunteers, trustees and steering group for making our projects work!
We also bid Caroline (Projects Manager) and Rensa (V&P officer) farewell and welcome Deima and Nikki onto our team.
Have an amazing holiday and we hope to see you back in Lent.
Some of our new projects starting 2023 include:
- Betty's musical
- Sandwiches for Homeless
- Craft Club
