The Big Survey!

https://forms.gle/8kZfQsxPpoKi2LSUA

At Cambridge Big Questions, we care about questions and the people who ask them, and so this survey is all about hearing from and listening to students at the university.

What are your big questions - about the world, life, meaning, purpose, or Christianity’s claims?

This survey is really short and feel free to fill in as much or as little as you like. It is also totally anonymous unless you don't want it to be!

Story is underway! It's 2 weeks full of super interesting talks and other events. We'll be watching the events together on zoom with a corpus watch party! If you'd like to join, feel free to send us a message and we'll send you a link! Tonight is all about where God is during our pain and anxiety.

We'll also be prayer together in the mornings where it's college prayer and at some point during 2-4 when it's the central prayer (check the second image!) send a message if you wanna join :))

Hello again! We hope you've all had a restful and safe holiday and you've settled into term OK.

Just wanted to say that CU is meeting again virtually this term and we'll be taking a closer look at the stories Jesus told people and what they actually mean.

We're meeting in smaller groups called 'Impact Groups' - here's a short video introducing it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9MvAhxb9Q8&feature=emb_logo

If you'd like to pop in at all - even if it's just once and you're curious - then give us a message!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since the last update. I just wanted to say a huge welcome to the new freshers for meeting their offers :-)) We can’t wait to meet everyone in a socially distant manner! CU will start again in October (day of the week tbc) and everyone is welcome, old and new. We’ll be looking at a letter Paul wrote to the Christians in Philippi this term. Have a wonderful Michaelmas!

A little late, but congratulations to all the new freshers-to-be! We're so excited to see you in Cambridge (perhaps with some social distancing). You are so welcome to join us and see the family we have in Corpus - sharing life with Jesus is such an important part of our lives. We'd love to meet you :))

Hey everyone! Term has started and this post is a little late 😅, we’re meeting every Saturday from 13:00-14:30 (roughly) on zoom. There are no requirements at all to join in and all you need to bring is some food (optional; we can’t send food over the post, I’m afraid), and an interest in what’s happening!

This term, we’ve been focusing on a book in the Bible called Colossians and seeing how what the author said to those people in Colossae can be, and still is, applicable to the world around us today.

We’ll be chatting and eating in the first 40 or so minutes and then getting into a portion of Colossians afterwards. Feel free to drop in to either of the sessions, and message this page for the zoom link 😃

Message from CICCU! This is on tomorrow, don’t miss out 💫💫

Do you need to sit back and catch your breath? Oasis is your chance to do exactly that. Come along with friends or on your own and spend time chilling over board games and enjoy conversations while meeting new people and forming cross-cultural friendships. People from all over the world come to study in Cambridge, so why not make the most of opportunities to get to know others from different backgrounds? Free snacks and bubble tea are provided, though bubble tea is limited so do come early if you'd like some!

Interview: Niamh

Subject: HSPS (Politics and Social Anthropology), Second Year

Church: Fisher

What’s one thing you wish you had packed?

I’m not sure... but the best thing I did pack was colourful drawing pins and loads of photos - the rooms in Corpus have huge boards and my room definitely started to feel like it was really mine once I had filled it with pictures/postcards/mementos. It was so fun to add to it through the year, too!

What’s your favourite part about CU?

Definitely the people. Everyone was so kind, generous and welcoming, and it was so great to have friends across the years and subjects in Corpus, especially when I was settling in - can’t wait to have the tables turned and welcome some new freshers!

Interview: Becca

(Manufacturing Engineering (MET), 4th year)

What’s one thing you wish you’d known before you came to Cambridge?

I wish I had known that it’s okay to feel like you aren’t having the best time of your life all the time. Cambridge is a very intense experience and when I first came to Corpus (3 years ago now!) I wanted to do everything but soon released that I couldn’t cope with doing so.

Over the years I found what I enjoy doing the most: church, rowing and CU. I learnt that it’s okay to say no to things so that you can have an evening off and you will still have friends. I have enjoyed some of the best experiences while being in Cambridge but also have downs as well as the ups- which is a very normal thing to experience. But overall I have loved my Cambridge experience at Corpus.

Cambridge Churches!

Cambridge has lots of churches, with different styles of worship. Corpus CU will host 'church search breakfasts' in the first few weeks of term, where those who are looking for a church can go along with CU members - watch this space.

If you come on the CICCU Freshaway, you'll meet student workers from these churches! (Here's the link for more info! http://ciccu.org.uk/freshaway/ )

In the meantime, here are the four biggest Cambridge student churches' websites for you to explore.

Holy Trinity: https://www.htcambridge.org.uk

St Andrew the Great (StAG): https://www.stag.org

Eden Baptist Church: https://eden-cambridge.org
