Our partner journal, the Durham Law Review, is now accepting submissions for Volume VIII.

Submissions for VOLUME VIII of DLR's Annual Journal are now open until 25 March 2023, 12pm.

We are looking for argumentative and contemporary submissions that contribute to legal debate and offer a new perspective on a current topic. Feel free to explore any area of law or commercial issues.

Submissions should be consistent with OSCOLA and contain a bibliography. Please include, along with any submission, a brief overview of your piece, an abstract (if possible), and the grade received (if any). We welcome submissions of any form, including but not limited to essays, dissertations, or articles. There is no requirement as to word count.

If your submission is selected, it will be published on the Durham Law Review website and in our hard-copy journal, and featured at the annual launch party.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: VOLUME 12 (SPRING 2023)

The Editorial Board for the UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence (the “Journal”) is pleased to announce a call for submission of papers for Volume 12 of the Journal that will be published in Spring 2023. The Journal is a reputable law journal run by graduate law students from the University College London, Faculty of Laws, and is available through open access.

As with past issues, the Editorial Board welcomes papers covering all areas of law and jurisprudence. Submissions should provide an original contribution and / or insight into a legal field, or propose an answer to a complex and / or yet unanswered legal question. At the time of submission, the paper must not have been already published or submitted to any other journals (including blogs) for consideration or publication. All articles will be assessed through double blind peer review.

The Journal only accepts articles between 8,000 and 12,000 words, and current affairs pieces between 2,000 and 4,000 words. The deadline for submission is 24 Feb 2023. Late submissions will not be considered.

Before submitting an article for the Journal’s consideration, authors must ensure that their paper is referenced according to and complies with the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). All papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format and should also contain an abstract of approximately 150 words. Authors should also ensure that their papers are fit for publication at the time of submission. More information about the Journal’s requisite standards for submissions can be found in its past issues: https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/issues/ .

Anonymised manuscripts must be uploaded via the submissions section on the Journal’s website (https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/submissions/); there should be no references that could link the paper to the author. Registration on the Journal’s website is necessary before authors can submit their anonymised papers. Only submissions via the Journal’s website will be considered; submissions via email will not be considered.

The oldest undergraduate law journal in the UK, the OUULJ has a long-standing tradition of publishing high-quality work, submitted by students from any university background. It also benefits from the support of a distinguished Honorary Board; this year, our Honorary Board is comprised of members of the judiciary, including Lord Neuberger and Lord Wilson, notable legal academics, such as Lord Pannick KC and Dinah Rose KC, and the Dean of the Oxford Faculty of Law, Professor Mindy Chen-Wishart.

Bristol Law Review: Call for Submission

We would like to circulate the following call for submissions from our partners at the Bristol Law Review.

"The Bristol Law Review is an annual, peer-reviewed journal seeking to promote high quality academic legal writing in both public and private law. As we aim to attract a diverse pool of submissions, we hope that you will consider circulating the information below amongst your undergraduate and postgraduate student body. If you or any of your students have any questions, they can contact us via [email protected].

There are no eligibility requirements to make a submission, any legal academic writing is welcome. The word limit for the article submission is 10,000 words. We would note that the main metric for publishing is based on the overall quality of the piece.

We warmly encourage submissions from students who are writing legal dissertations or legal research projects as part of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses, provided these articles have not been and will not be published elsewhere.

All submissions will first be reviewed by the appointed Editorial Board members, who will compile a shortlist of articles based on the peer review process. Members of the Editorial Board, with the assistance of our Academic Advisor, will ultimately select the best articles to be included in the final edition. Authors will be informed at each stage of the review process as to the status of their article and whether it has advanced or not.

The deadline for entries is Friday 1 April at 23:59 GMT. All submissions must be sent in MS Word format via the link to the Google form provided below. Any questions should be directed to the Editorial Board at [email protected].

We are very grateful to the University of Bologna Law Review for hosting this educational event. We were also joined by the Editors-in-Chief of the Cambridge Law Review and the Auckland University Law Review.

The CLR is proud to announce its partnership with the Durham Law Review!

Previously known as Inter Alia, the Durham Law Review (DLR) has been in existence since 1992. Over the years, the DLR has become recognised as a legal journal that aims to stimulate lively discussion and debate on topical legal, social, and political issues. The DLR publishes an annual hard and soft copy journal with contributions from students, leading academics, and practitioners whose entries provide exceptional scholarship across all areas of the law. The DLR also issues weekly feature articles and shares daily updates on developments in the legal and commercial press.

The DLR is currently accepting submissions for Volume VII. The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2021.

The Exeter Law Review (ELR) is an entirely student-run journal, featuring some of the brightest minds that the University of Exeter has to offer. Published annually, the ELR publishes scholarship across a wide range of legal topics. In 2017, the Review created an online companion, www.exeterlaw.org, that publishes shorter pieces addressing contemporary legal challenges from a scholarly point of view. Furthermore, the ELR was the first undergraduate law journal to release a podcast in 2019. The podcast seeks to combine theoretical issues with 'real world' application.
