If you have obtained your Driver CPC, you already know you must complete 35 hours of training within a 5 year period. The expiry date of your can be found on your , and for most people this will be 9th September 2024. Generally DCPC training is carried out in 7 hour blocks, meaning over the 5 year period you can complete all of the required 35 hours within 5 individual sittings.

Driver Pre Use "Gate Checks"

Lloyd Morgan Group auditors will stop drivers leaving site to simulate a visit by DVSA. They will check the daily walkaround check sheet of the vehicle completed by the driver that day and then do a physical walk around check of the vehicle themselves.
Checks can be carried out on outbound and or inbound vehicles
A summary report is produced for each site for all vehicles and trailers checked which will help you to identify potential training needs and areas of exposure.

Transport Manager CPC

The Transport Manager CPC Course (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a legal requirement of an Operator Licence. It is a legal requirement to show that all goods and passenger vehicle operators are ‘professionally competent’ and is part of the conditions of your operator licence (O Licence).

Lloyd Morgan Group are a leading provider of Transport Manager courses and achieve excellent pass rates through our dedication to get the candidate to achieve their best through many learning techniques. Our 10 day course includes a revision day and the exam. No hidden extras!

As well as offering the classroom based CPC training course we can also provide Transport Manager CPC e-Learning. This subscription provides access to an online e-Learning portal for three months and candidates can use this prior to attending a CPC course and undertaking the exam as an aid to support learning and understanding to strengthen their journey to becoming a transport manager and helping to improve first time pass rate.
For those who do not have the time to attend our classroom CPC course or prefer to study at home at their own pace, we also provide a Transport Manager CPC – Home Study option.
Our Transport Manager CPC courses (excluding the Transport Manager CPC e-Learning subscription) come with a FREE one year CILT(UK) CPC eMember subscription (not to be used in conjunction with any other membership level of subscription). Who Should Attend?

The qualifications are for HGV or PSV individuals who want to:

This qualification is open access, and no prior knowledge, skills, understanding, or qualifications are required, although they would be a benefit to the learning outcome of those wishing to undertake this course.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed at Level 3 of the National Qualification Framework, and is comparable to other qualifications at Level 3, e.g. NVQ Level 3, Advanced GNVQ and A-Level. There are no formal requirements for entry to the examinations. Candidates will be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy and a level of industry knowledge appropriate for a person working at Level 3.

The Transport Managers CPC consists of one unit and four modules.

Each of the four modules focuses on a specific area of competence and covers the requirements laid out in the Regulation (EU) No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009.

The CPC Road Haulage syllabus has been completely revised due to new European Union Legislation which came into force on 4th December 2011. As a result of this, the CPC Qualification now covers the National & International Road Haulage Operations together in one qualification.

The four modules are:
Managing Business Operations
Managing Drivers
Managing Compliance and Risk
Managing Transport Operations

Paper 1. Knowledge Test – Multi Format Response
Paper 1 is a closed book assessment, meaning no supporting resource is admissible during the assessment.

The assessment will last for 2 hours
The pass mark for this assessment is 70%

Paper 2. Knowledge Application in the Workplace – Case Study Assessment

Paper 2 is open book. Only learning material provided by the approved assessor is admissible in the test. Questions relate to case studies which are pre published in this syllabus and covered during the training.

There are three case study questions each primarily focusing on the following specific modules

Managing Drivers
Managing Compliance and Risk
Managing Transport Operations
The assessment will last for 2 hours 15 minutes
The pass mark for this assessment is 50%
To achieve a Level 3 certificate of professional competence for Transport Managers, candidates will need to pass paper 1 and paper 2.

A certificate from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is issued following successfully completing the course and passing the exams.

E-Learning
Transport Manager CPC e-Learning – helping to aid learning and preparation

The Transport Manager CPC e-Learning Subscription provides access to online e-Learning portal for three months and candidates can use this prior to attending a CPC course and undertaking the exam as an aid to support learning and understanding to strengthen their journey to becoming a transport manager and helping to increase first time pass rates.

Lloyd Morgan Group can also offer Refresher CPC Training – For those who already hold a CPC

It is recommended that refresher training is undertaken to keep you up to date with changing legislation and regulations to which you need to operate. Training ideally should be every 3 – 5 years from initially obtaining your professional certificate.

This refresher training helps with the requirement for ‘continuing professional development’ of transport managers now referred to in the Statutory Guidance issued by the Senior Traffic Commissioner. Refresher training is also now considered by the DVSA when assessing an operator’s compliance.

Lloyd Morgan Group offer a 2-day Managers CPC Refresher course which will update you with the current requirements – this course is not a replacement for the full course.


Home Study
The Transport Manager CPC Home Study option provides access to a CPC online e-Learning portal, approved CPC course notes / materials and entry to the CPC exam. Ideal for those wishing to obtain their Transport Manager CPC and are unable to commit to attend our 10-day course (9 days classroom and one day for online exams) or who would just prefer to study at home in their own time at their own pace.

Dedicated On Site Training

If you have enough candidates to fill a course (8-12), instead of your engineers travelling to our training centres, we can come to you and provide the training on your site. This can be much more convenient for your candidates, as they won't need to travel to attend this course.
