Here are 10 tips to save money on your heating bills:

• Fit Smart Heating controls: A programmable thermostat will allow you to set different temperatures for different times of the day, so you're not wasting energy heating an empty house. Some Smart controls also use Weather Compensation, so it lets the boiler know not to work to hard on warmer days.
• Seal any air leaks around doors and windows with weatherstripping and caulking, place draft stoppers at the bottom of doors. This will prevent warm air from escaping and cold air from entering your home.
• Insulate your home: Make sure your home is properly insulated. Check your loft, walls, and floors for insulation, and add more if necessary.
• Use curtains and blinds: Keep curtains and blinds closed at night to keep cold air out and warm air in. Open them during the day to let the sun warm your home.
• Regularly service your Boiler to ensure it's running efficiently and not wasting energy.
• Lower your thermostat by a few degrees and put on a sweater or use a blanket to keep warm.
• Replace old windows: Replace old, drafty windows with energy-efficient ones to reduce heat loss and save on heating bills.
• Insulate your heating pipes where they travel through un-heated spaces to reduce heat loss and save energy.
• Use a hot water bottle: Instead of turning up the heat at night, use a hot water bottle to keep warm in bed.
• Close doors to rooms you're not using to avoid wasting heat.
