It’s amazing how many people are unaware they need to clear the baffle plate on a monthly bases 👀

In this photo you will see the top of a baffle plate absolute full to the flu pipe with soot, this was from a well managed burner that has been swept yearly….

… however you can see the build up, this was blocking the flu and limiting the gasses and smoke from efficiently escaping up and out the flu 😷

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤

All user manuals will give you cleaning advice, they will state you must clean the baffle monthly 👀 NOW….

… should you need to claim on your home insurance, say for smoke ingress to the property for damage to home or for an internal fire 🔥

If an investigation is done (highly likely the insurer will) then they will ask when the last sweep was done and ask to see the sweep certificate 👌🏼

𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫…

If they find that the baffle is loaded with debris then this will quite possibly 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘆 as the manufacturer instructions to clean monthly would not have been done 👀

So our free advice to you, learn how to clean your baffle plate and do it regularly to keep your home safe and your insurance valid 🙏🏼
