**📣 Important Update for Skilled Workers in the UK: No Need to Worry!**

Hello everyone,

We understand there may be some concerns about the recent update regarding the state nominated skilled program in Queensland and some other States.
Here's what you need to know:

🔹 **What Happened?**
On Friday, 10 May 2024, Migration Queensland closed its state nominated skilled program for the financial year 2023-24.

🔹 **What Does This Mean?**
This closure is a standard procedure that occurs at the end of every migration program year. The Australian Federal Government allocates a specific number of places to each state for the 190 Permanent Visa and the 491 Provisional Visa. These allocations reset on 1 July each year.

🔹 **What About the UK?**
Rest assured, this does not mean that Australia's borders are closing or that opportunities for skilled migration are ending. This is simply the conclusion of one program year, and a new program year will begin on 1 July 2024 with new allocations and opportunities.

🔹 **Looking Forward**
We encourage all skilled workers living offshore (in UK) to stay informed and prepare for the upcoming program year. Keep an eye out for further updates and announcements.

The Australian Government has announced it is closing the Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) Australian Government endorsed events (COVID-19 Pandemic event) – referred to as the Pandemic Event visa. From 2 September 2023, the Pandemic Event visa will only be open to applications from existing Pandemic Event visa holders. Pandemic Event visa holders will be able to apply for a subsequent visa after 2 September 2023 until the visa is fully closed by February 2024.

All other visa holders will be ineligible for the Pandemic Event visa from 2 September 2023.

We have some important information to share regarding the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa in the Regional Provisional Stream. This visa serves as a pathway to permanent residence for all you who hold the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) and Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) (subclass 494) visas and wish to transfer to apply for Permanent Residence.

There is now 'No Minimum' income requirement for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191). It's great news, right? The absence of a legislative instrument specifying a minimum income threshold makes it even more accessible for eligible applicants like you.

To successfully apply for this visa, primary applicants need to provide notices of assessment issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for three income years out of the five years of their eligible visa. It's essential to double-check and ensure that your application includes these three notices if you have already lodged it.

From 1 July 2023, urine tests will no longer form part of the medical examination. The immigration department will require a blood test to be undertaken instead. Applicants aged 15 years or older, who have not completed their medical examinations prior to 1 July 2023, will be required to undertake a blood test. We will no longer require children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old to undertake urine or blood tests unless clinically indicated.
