While our bear makers are out enjoying the sunshine this weekend, Indi Bear has taken over the workshop. Here’s the agenda for the remainder of the day:

Hello, I’m Mr. Bear and I’ve been a beloved member of the Canterbury Bears family for over 20 years!

But did you know that I wasn’t always called Mr. Bear? My original name was Reggie!

Crafted from 100% pure, sparse mohair with traditional wooden joints, I’m quite the posable fellow.

I strut around the workshop in my hand-crocheted cardigan (big shoutout to Jayne!), complete with pockets and three wooden buttons. Fashionable and functional—just like me!

When I’m not enjoying quiet moments, I love spending time with Mrs. Bear (my lovely wife), Furse (my son), and Fenella (my daughter) for cozy tea parties and delightful storytelling sessions.

I also take pleasure in exploring the workshop and taking leisurely strolls in the park.

Just the other day, she caught Binky trying to sneak an extra scoop of stuffing – clearly, someone is a little too fond of snack breaks! 🍿🧸 And let’s not forget the Great Ribbon Competition – where the bears compete to see who gets the fanciest bow. (Bella won this round, obviously! 😉)

She’s often “supervising” from the sewing machine with her stylish patterned bow or peeking out from behind fabric rolls with her hand-embroidered nose - she’s the queen of cuteness. 😍

But watch out! This mischievous bear loves to swipe spools of thread and hide under fabric scraps, ready to pounce on unsuspecting toes.👀

Fully jointed and filled with recyclable materials, she’s not just eco-friendly, she’s also the most huggable troublemaker around! 🤗

Snowy is crafted from 100% pure cream mohair fabric, and he’s as charming as he is curious. His gleaming black safety locking eyes and a hand-embroidered nose and mouth give him a look of perpetual curiosity—perfect for his role in our workshop.

Thanks to our hand-stamped wooden joints, his head is fully movable, making him a great observer of all the action.

When he’s not supervising the creation of handmade bears and animals, you’ll find Snowy getting up to all sorts of antics. From sneaking off with a spool of thread to napping in the coziest fabric piles, Snowy keeps us on our toes. And let’s not forget his signature blue spotty neckerchief, which somehow always manages to stay spotless, no matter what trouble he finds.
