Happy New Year everyone!

Just a quick reminder that PPA Live rehearsal week kicks off today, starting with tap grades 2, 3 & 4 at 4.45 pm and advanced hip hop at 7 pm. We’re looking forward to seeing you all and picking up where we left off 🤗

Also, don’t forget, PPA classes resume this coming Friday 5th Jan.

I got a bit behind with results posts 🤦🏻‍♀️! Here are the results from Destination Dance a few weeks ago. Well done everyone! 🥇Forever Young- Polly and Milla’s duet 🏆They we’re also awarded the highest scoring duet of the day (Saturday) 🥇The Playground- Sasha and Eli’s duet 🏆 They we’re also awarded highest scoring duet of the day (Sunday), and received a standing ovation from the judges. 🥇Home- Eli and Reuben’s duet 🥈Nerdgang- Street group 🥈Eli’s hip hop solo 🥈Megan’s commercial solo 🥈Hattie’s acro solo 🥈Eli’s contemporary solo 🥉Power Puff Girls- Bella, Kitty and Megan’s trio 🥉Faith’s tap solo 🏆🏆 Wren and Eli were also awarded an ‘idol’ ribbon and were invited to perform a group number at the final. At this competition, each dancer is awarded a medal according to their scoring. We had some lovely comments and high scores- platinum, gold plus, gold and silver 🥰 We are always so proud of our team and everything they achieve, huge thank you to @amyclarepetts and @viennagasson as ever, for all your hard work, time and commitment to the students 💕

📣We are delighted to announce that our July show will be: SIX! ⭐️

We’re doing the teen edition, so it’s open to anyone in the Inter 1, Inter 2 and Senior classes. It will be a huge ensemble piece that will include everyone (all genders) not just the six queens. It’s going to be an epic!

Auditions will take place on Friday 15th March from 6.45-8.45 pm and Sat 16th March from 5.00-7.00 pm. Re-calls will be on Fri 22nd and Sat 23rd March. Registration for auditions will open at the end of Feb 2024.

The show will be staged at the Malthouse Theatre, Canterbury, on Sat 27th & Sun 28th July.

We can’t wait to Get Down with the sassiest story in British Her-story! 👑

We will be running an ACRO CAMP on Mon 18th, Tues 19th and Weds 20th Dec from 10.00 am -3.00 pm at PPA.

This is a new exciting venture, particularly targeting growth and improvement for our acro / comp team students in this very short period of time! There are limited spaces as we are only taking 20 students, in two groups of 10, age 7 yrs and up. They will be split according to age and ability.

The days will consist of:
9.45 am: Studio opens, ALL- Registration and arrival.
10.00-11.30 am: Group 1 & 2 - Stretch and conditioning
11.45-1.00 pm: Group 1- Acro / Group 2- Tumbling
1.45-3.00 pm: Group 1- Tumbling / Group 2- Acro
3.00 pm: Finish

We will be opening up applications to our current acro students and competition team from now, and then to the rest of the school from 2nd Dec.

We had an awesome weekend at (who are always so lovely and kind 🥰) and results were as follows:

🏆 Highest scoring duet- Polly & Milla’s duet 👵👵
🏆 Choreography award- PPA (a three-way tie between three of our numbers 😅)
🏆 Eliska was also awarded a place on the very prestigious’Bird College’ summer school, for age 11 yr up, despite only being 10! 🥳

And there were some beautiful performances and excellent scores for Bella, Kitty & Megan’s trio, as well as Evie, Ruby, Polly, Alex and Ella’s solos 🤩 We also had some lovely and very reassuring comments from one of the judges to a member of our faculty, which made us very proud 🥰

All in all, a wonderful weekend! Bring on the next 💪

As we approach our next weekend of competitions, here are the results from last weekend…

Hattie came in first place with her acro solo! This was a huge achievement for Hattie, considering she is only seven, and she’s never done a solo on a stage ever before 🥰

Eliska came second with her hip-hop solo and Evie came third!💪

Milla and Polly came first with their hip-hop duet 🤩

Alex, Polly and Ruby did really well in big sections of senior solos and we were so proud of them.

We were really impressed with everyone and the way they handled themselves at their first comp with all new numbers. Huge thanks to & for all their time and dedication to the team 💕 Bring on next weekend!!

We’re excited to be performing at ‘Breakout’ today at presented by ! We will be performing our piece ‘Sasha’s Story’ and a number of our students are performing in piece with her new company - ‘Gaia’.

The show starts at 6.30 pm, and with some amazing guest artists, it’s sure to be an absolute smash! There are still tickets available so come and support if you can 🤗

📣 Returning for this term- Pre-school classes at PPA! 🌟

Does your child aged 2-3 yrs love moving to music or jumping about? Try our pre-school classes on Thursday mornings! Students come in with a parent/guardian until they are confident enough to come in alone, and we have a lovely relaxed and friendly environment. The classes include dance games, story telling through dance, lots of props and lots of fun 🥰 Get in touch if you’d like to bring your little one along for a free taster session.

📣New for this term- ADULT MUSICAL THEATRE!🌟

We are so excited to be opening an adult musical theatre class- it’s been something we've wanted to do for a while and we finally have space in the schedule, on Mondays from 6.45-7.45 pm 🥳 The class starts with our new term, next week, and will be taken by both Lindsey and Sophie. In the class we take numbers from a wide variety of musicals and focus heavily on acting-through-song with vocal technique.

Continuing on our journey of PPA shows from the past year…

🦁🐻🐯

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is the tale of Max- who puts on her wolf suit one night, jumping around the house, up to all sorts of mischief, until she is sent to bed without any supper 😢 As she sleeps, a forest grows around her 🌳 and when she wakes up, a river takes her by boat to the place where the wild things are! 🛶 🐗At first the wild things are scary- they roar their terrible roars and gnash their terrible teeth, until she has an idea… she says STOP! ✋ And then looks them all the eye 👀 and hypnotizes them until they copy everything she does! They crown her their queen 👑 and dance into the night 🪩When everyone goes to bed she realizes she is lonely and wants to head back to her family, so decides to give up the crown and go home 🏠 They are all sad to see her go 🥹 but when she gets home she finds her supper waiting for her, and it’s still hot 🍲❣️
