Another DK pair using discontinued WYS yarn in Mojito. That's another space in my yarn basket. Now to cast on the next DK pair!
Reveal! We are excited to share the first in the kits created by for designs.
Rainbow Wings is a Shawl that features colourful wedges knit from micro skeins that make it a really potato chip kind of project where you just want to knit one more wedge!
The pattern combines soothing garter stitch and engaging short rows and encourages colour play through the use of 12 micro skeins.
Gemma has brought her signature style to this kit, swapping out the pale main colour of the original for a deep navy blue that really let's the 12 skein rainbow fade pop. Work from "Layla Red" right through to the ever popular "Legwarmers" in a fun journey of stitch and colour.
These kits will be available to buy at in two weekends time!
Note: photo for colour illustration purposes only. Kits include 1x100g of the Midnight Navy and 12x10g micros one in each colour shown.
If you told me a year ago that today I'd be enjoying a summer evening on the deck in my own garden in Devon, with the dog on the grass, washing out, knitting, and next to my veggie patch, I'd have thought it was a dream. Yet here I am.
What's more is I'm feeling relaxed after a great day at work: I thought I'd left education behind for good but here I am back with My first love, fulfilling my dream of 32 years ago when I watched my reception teacher and thought: "I want to be like you when I grow up".
There will be some necessary changes happening here at TMD but all good and I'll share them with you soon. # # #

a new mini series is live on my channel - day 1 of my 100 day challenge!
The camera wanted to focus on the view and I can't blame it!
We spent some time this morning just on the other side of the bay in Teignmouth and while Robin played in the park, I knit on some socks and kept Magnus amused with ice cream.
That big sticky out bit? Just the other side you can see Babbacombe, the usual view I bring you. (Last photo) or you could if the sea mists weren't rolling in!
What are you up to today?
Yarn is WYS DK unfortunately discontinued.
Possibly the brightest yarn I've ever dyed!! Legwarmers joined by electric cucumber and an as yet unnamed bright blue and sunshine yellow
What should I call the blue and yellow?
Any guesses as to what these could be for?
I feel wonderful! Reviews like this mean so much. 🥰🥰🥰
May not look much but to me, the "reluctant non-knitter" and convinced I can't do it, this is huge progress from a workshop yesterday to knit a small sample version of a "top down sweater". 8 hours of workshop and brain ache but, at the end of the day it (I think) made sense, lots of lessons learned and I will be starting to handspin some yarn this week to knit a full size version. Many thanks to Wool on the Exe for their wonderful workshops and to The Midnight Dyery for her endless patience! If you need any help, want to learn, or progress further with knitting or crochet I can't praise these workshops in Exeter enough - if they can get me to push myself to this level then anyone can do it!

The advantage of having a toddler that keeps getting you up stupid early is that eventually he "sleeps in" while you, having been trained by your son, still wake up before 5am....
Which means you get moments like this. On the deck, with a coffee, and your knitting, listening to the birds and watching the sun rise.
Bliss.
What's your favourite moment? X
Pattern = Chime from Rowan
Yarn = Rowan Summerlite DK from The Yarn Dispensary
I had the absolute best time teaching at today! My students were brilliant each with their own areas of perceived challenge but all keen to have a go at knitting top down in the round and they all smashed it!
I can't wait to see their final creations.
I'll be back at WOTE on 3rd August and 7th Sept for my intro to knitting in the round course. 3rd August is already sold out but keep an eye on the WOTE website for when tickets go live for the 7th Sept!
Thank you Debbie and team for welcoming me back.
The long awaited project coming soon!
