Second Chance Coffee

After a pretty quiet time of late, it’s been brilliant to get back out there recently with the and help deliver some training sessions as Second Chance Coffee once again.

It’s been great to be providing learners with hands on experience, a reference for any future work as well as their level 2 food hygine qualification, at no cost to them!

Albeit a slightly slower pace from years gone by, Second Chance Coffee will forever be the official home of the big jobs! 🤠 ☕️ 📚

Hey all - as some of you may remember, we did a handful of pop ups/somewhat of a residency down at Radyr Cricket Club throughout 2022 and 2023 (short lived after the piaggio died in a lay-by in Brecon)

Whilst the piaggio van won’t be down there serving up as Second Chance, it’s great to see park up for a summer residency to serve up delicious coffee and pie every Saturday and Sunday from 10-4 with some familiar faces floating about the place.

Be sure to swing by and say Shwmae whilst grabbing a pie! 🥧 ☕️

Deep in outer space, comes a signal from humanity…

Can’t believe I’ve been so busy recently that I forgot to say Second Chance Coffee turned 3 earlier this week!!

Where’s the bloody time gone, ay?! Three whole years of giving it a nudge, cruising (but really living life in the fast lane) and generally having some fun, all whilst trying to offer a helping hand!

I’ve been super fortunate to have toured some amazing venues, worked with some incredible events and organisers and had a great time offering training to people from all walks of life along the way through the

Whilst it’s been a quiet six months or so (you don’t need that heartfelt spiel again) I’m really excited for things to kick off again in the coming weeks!

PS - I forgot our own birthday because I’ve been too busy lending a hand and eating all the pies over at (cats out the bag)

A real busy start to 2024 with lots of enquires and bookings coming in; so grateful to everyone who I’m fortunate enough to work with and all who enquire..

The support received throughout 2023 has been immense; despite the hurdles and challenges faced towards the back end of a fantastic summer, I’m so grateful to everyone I’ve been able to work alongside, everyone who’s rooted for me whether that be in person or online as well as everyone I’ve had the opportunity to run training sessions for - I’d be here for hours attempting to type up just how much it means and I’d still not do it justice.

Second Chance Coffee was and still is all about doing life in the slow lane with a coffee in hand, tackling the big jobs and ensuring that people and service are always our first, whilst being able to combine coffee with creativity along the way.

The race will only ever be with myself when this is the case and 2023 is a firm reminder of that.

Lots of exciting things to come in 2024, so I look forward to sharing them with you all in times to come when the time comes to return back to earth after the winter break. 🌏

I was super excited to write a big update tonight that after a real rough few months, my luck was finally turning around after putting my beloved piaggio van back together and rebuilding the head gasket (along with every other bloody component under the hood (seats)

I had it all planned out.. the big reveal.. the boys are back… world tour volume 2.0… you get the gist!

Anyway, unfortunately it lasted near on two miles down the road before once again the engine started rattling, the Hazards went on and the old Danger Triangle came out as me and my noble steed reverted back to being as mobile as a bloody pay phone in a lay-by (once again)

They say if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry - fortunately I did both as I wept a small tear wondering why all this bad luck is happening to me and hoping I wake up to find this is all a dream and in fact I’m not playing the role of a budget Hollywood actor who’s down on his luck this Christmas!

Upon reflection; I guess if every show was a sell out we wouldn’t know the good ones from the bad ones, right? So here’s to going back to the drawing board and trying once again in the new year to get things back up and running!

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is thank you for baring with me this year - I appreciate there’s a lot of people I’ve had to cancel on through this time and penultimately let down; as well as probably a lot of you who have forgotten who Second Chance Coffee even is, but I promise we’ll get there next year and 2024 is the year of the comeback tour - admit it, you already know I’ve got that bootleg Westlife like tour Merch at the ready!

Enjoy Christmas with your loved ones, and here’s hoping I make it back next year after what feels like a lifetime of being lost in space 🌍 🤠

Hey pals - remember me?!

As well as feeling super unmotivated at the moment with winter in full swing and all that comes with it, I’ve been trying to slowly chip away at bits in the background in preparation for some brighter days (both physically and metaphorically speaking) ahead of us as 2023 all but comes to a close..

As well as printing some new hoods recently in prep for the cold months ahead, I also mentioned last week that I’d finally gotten around to making some kind of headway on a website for Second Chance Coffee - a place to enquire, schedule training, and of course… purchase Merch.

Hey pals - it’s been a minute, right?!

I’d be lying if I said keeping up with social media fads and trends wasn’t something that’s eluded me recently; in an ever consuming world, I’ve decided whilst I’ve been quiet over the last few months to not even try and keep up with it all whilst there’s not been much to report..

Between navigating lots going on, as well as life in the fast lane as I’ve been working on some little bits behind the scenes (with the help of some great people) to keep the wheels turning ready to start picking things up again in 2024.

1) The ever demanding Piagio van has an engine that’s been put back together and is finally running. Pending the seats going in and the engine, water pump and got knows what else not overheating, you should see me back on the road as early as this weekend 🤙🏼

2) A website and shopify store is in the final stages of being good to launch; a super exciting time to have a platform that’ll allow me to both accept training sessions, book initial meetings and continue on with all things under the 📚

3) A greatest hits tour is to come in 2024 - yep, after a world, and UK and European tour, it feels only right that a Greatest Hits tour is now on the cards for 2024. Expect the usual antics, with some residency spots and even a little surprise to keep you all guessing 🏏

4) My diary is open for both December and into 2024 - If you’d like to get an event booked in, whether it be a wedding, festival, or even just having some coffee on site at an open day/gym throw-down, just shout ☕️

As always, appreciate those who are there for all the highs life brings whilst out on the road, but even more so for those who are there during the not so high times whilst we battle through the winter months.

Great to be back on the road once again today with Second Chance Coffee and the Trainee Network Programme running session 3 of 6 for students at an SEN school in Swansea.

Always appreciate getting time to work with those who are looking for opportunities post education and am forever grateful to everyone who reaches out.

This will be my final block of work for the year on training and am really looking forward to going again after a little break.

Hey friends, I kept it pretty low key, but at the end of this summers tour, my beautiful Caravan, Old Mate headed off to Caravan Heaven after 3 fantastic years of service!

From picking it up off a driveway, to catering to some of the biggest festivals and events in Wales, it’s fair to say it’s served me well and leaves me with some of the best memories possible!

With a busy winter of training ahead, really looking forward to working more out of my Piagio van that’s soon to be back on the road, before hopefully sharing some exciting news of an Old Mate 2.0 come next spring (you know it’s big jobs only here by now)

After spending the last 6 months on the road and on a tour that’s consisted of 35 different dates across 20 different venues, it’s finally time to head home; taking the long way home and enjoying fish and chips along with the sunset was a no brainier..

All packed and ready to hit the road one last time for venue 20 out of 20 on this years UK and European tour.

From packed out festivals to weddings, right through to early mornings down the beach, there’s not too many events that haven’t been catered for on this years tour.

Despite the odd hiccup (a blown water pump on the Piaggio and a wonky-ish caravan) it’s been a lot fun; thanks to everyone I’ve shared the ride (and a brew) with; I’ll be sure to let you know just how sweet that beer tastes tomorrow.

Fun time hitting the road and heading west (ish) yesterday to crash Ruth and Iori’s wedding in order to keep family and friends caffeinated on their big day.

Feels surreal to be preparing for what will penultimately be the last stop on this summers tour next week - where the f**k has the time gone, ay?!

Always a fun time hitting the road and heading up to Green Man Festival; a real pleasure being able to get stuck in and help support Hard Lines Coffee.

Super proud to have worked with a phenomenal team who kept both service and coffee to the highest standards over the last few days!

After a super busy June and July, it was great to hold another workshop today through Second Chance Coffee and the Trainee Network Programme

It’s great to be working with and engaging with learners who will be looking for both work experience and opportunities post education and I’m super proud to have been able to have offered that opportunity through Second Chance Coffee.

Thanks to all involved with both Dow and the Vale of Glamorgan college, well as the guys at Hard Lines Coffee for allowing us to use their space - yes, I’m still waiting for a head gasket seal for my van that’s stuck in UK customs 🙃

As always, a huge thanks goes to everyone who helps both support and back my work which allows me to run free and accessible sessions.

From the coffee you see being made, to the workbooks in hand that now act as job references, none of this is possible without the support of those who helped get Second Chance Coffee up and running! 🤟🏼☕️

I’ve been absolutely pants at keeping you updated with all things Second Chance Coffee post our Tafwyl event in Bute park a little while back; partly due to being a touch busy with all things work related, but also due to finding social media a real clusterf*** to keep up with!

Anyway, apart from drinking herbal tea in the garden, I’ve been busy working on some bits for August..

Super excited to announce I’ll be running some sessions through the once again next week, offering support to a few students transitioning from a SEN environment into potential work placements and hopeful job opportunities (that’s what it’s all about folks)as well as some exciting pop up dates..

I’ll be at CF PYB for their summer thrown down come August the 12, before rolling into the world famous Greenman Festival before running two private events to see the month out.

Between some pop ups, training and finally getting this head gasket set fitted to my Piaggio Van; I’m hoping to finally roll out some new merchandise in the next few days which will include this summers UK & European tour T-shirts (get excited.. they’re f**ken wicked butt)

Anyway… the game is the game, ciao for now, big jobs only.. you know the rest!
