Its the time of the year to say adios to one year and wish everyone best of health, prosperity and happiness for the next year. And as I always do, may I ask again for you to remember those who are less fortunate and vulnerable, to lend a hand against injustice and unfairness, to stand up and be counted against low pay, against the rising cost of living, against discrimination and for a more just and fair society. 2023 will bring challenges as those who currently hold the reigns of power seek to destroy our Health service, our system of welfare and social care, out public transport system, so they and their friends can personally profit from these public services. Many will be fooled in to a false sense of acceptance through patriotism and nationalistic fervour, the fools game.

It is ok to hope, to think that society can be improved, to fight for rights that our parent and their parents fought for. It is ok to demand for better living standards , for more control over your life and of those you love. It is ok to say enough is enough. So as this year begins, start with a desire to question right from wrong , good from evil and to do what is the right thing. May you have a New Year filled with inspiration and aspiration, may your dreams be realised and you stand together like our forefathers and foremothers taught us to fight for our rights to a better life.
