I had the pleasure of sharing my flower knowledge with two ladies last week. They attended the Professional Floristry course held at CCW - Training Academy in Cardiff. It is an intensive 5 day floristry course that gives the attendees knowledge to find their creative style and decide which floral path they wish to take.
When the ladies arrived on Day 1, there was a bit of anxiety as they did not know what to expect and whether they would enjoy the course.
As the week progressed, they began to understand and apply the theory of floral design to their creations. It was so rewarding to see them progress and blossom each day.
On Day 5, they did not want the course to end. Friendships were forged, creative ideas were exchanged and business aspirations buzzing in the head. The photos say it all.
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to embark on a creative career change. Contact me via email or CCW - Training Academy for further details.
If you have always created a circular shape door wreath, it’s time to do something different this Easter. Let’s set the trend and decorate your door with a teardrop shaped wreath instead. It will be a topic of conversation with your neighbours and friends.
You will be shown techniques to manipulate twigs, play with moss and living bulbs. There will be tips on aftercare. Join me for some creative fun and unleash the potential florist in you.
When: Saturday 9th April
Where: Bryn Community Hall
Time: 11am to 2pm
Cost: £50 per person including materials and refreshments
Full payment required at time of booking to secure your place. Gift vouchers are available.
Just want to say Thank You to the lovely peeps who have bought my gift vouchers for their Mum to attend the Spring flower class on 3rd April.
If you are still hesitating what to buy Mum for Mother's Day, the answer is a fun filled flower class. Don't leave it too late! Get in touch with me to book that space.
When your visiting family have "been there, seen that, got the T-shirt", how else can you entertain them? The answer is to book a bespoke flower experience and spend the afternoon with me.
Prior to the class, I will get a brief of your requirements. What would you like to learn, the style, what colours, any previous flower arranging experience. It helps me to create the best flower experience for you and all the attendees.
Classes can be held in your home environment where everyone is relaxed and not clock watching.
If you want a bespoke class with a few friends or with your mum and other family members, let's chat and make it happen.
In a world where you can be anything, be a flower.
It is not rude, cruel or unkind. It does not discriminate or judge.
A flower blooms and brings joy to others. Choose to be a flower.
Mother’s Day Gift Experience
Why not do something different for Mum this year? Buy her a gift voucher for a flower experience with me. She will take home a colourful Spring design and learn the secrets to care for Spring bulb flowers.
I am collaborating with the ever talented James Saunders who is generously hosting this event at his salon Saunders & Co Maesteg. Not to be missed!
As most of you will have plans to be with Mum on 27th March, the event will be held a week later on 3rd April from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The cost is £35 per person including materials and refreshments.
Contact me direct to book Mum a place and buy the gift voucher at the same time.

Congratulations to all the couples who got engaged over the festive period. The excitement of who proposed to who? How long have you been planning on popping the question? Were family members sworn to secrecy?
My advice is don't put pressure on yourselves to start planning the wedding immediately. Enjoy the euphoria of being engaged. Show off your ring. Get used to the idea of saying "We". Write the next chapter of your lives, dreams and hopes together.
Having exhibited at countless wedding fairs, I often see the terrified faces of guys being dragged around venues while their beloved fiancees are in full wedding planning mode. Most of the time, the couples have yet to set the date.
A lot of suppliers will want to offer packages or promotions to reel you in. Not me. I prefer to know the couple first. I even encourage them to check other florists. When the date is agreed, they will invariably contact me again as we have become friends. They are ready and comfortable to talk all things floral. So am I.
Your florist should be someone you would love to have coffee and cake with.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
My final order for the year is a commission for a client who wanted to use her existing containers and mixed size vases. I had free rein to cut foliage from her garden to create the garlands for the fireplace. There was also a challenge of "what can you do with an ugly wire chandelier?" The table decor needed to look festive with pops of red and yelllow.
Challenge accepted. Her farmhouse kitchen was transformed magically. The twinkling lights from the tree and candles dotted around truly sets the ambience for Christmas day celebrations and beyond.
She was totally besotted with the chandelier (which was no longer ugly) and it will be the focal point of conversation when the family arrives.
I can safely say it was a Thumbs Up emoji from a very happy client.
It's my time to hang up the secateurs and scissors for the festive period until 10th January 2022. Thank you to everyone who have supported and encouraged me this year.
Jingle those bells for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It was love at first sight when I saw the lush peacock ribbon. This set the theme for my wreath this year. Iridescent blue, gold and green. If I had feathers to fluff up, I would choose to be a peacock for a day. Join me and strut like no one is watching.😊
Every picture tells a story. Judging from the faces of these ladies, one can safely say that they had the most amazing afternoon learning how to create their bespoke wreaths. They came with little expectations but left with a great sense of achievement and a beautiful masterpiece to grace their front doors with pride.

When your favourite colour is blush pink and you want a delicate scented rose, the David Austin variety always come up trumps.
Introducing the charismatic Keira with her twirling soft petals. She is definitely the star of the bouquet and mingles well with other pastel blooms. The bridal bouquet has an extra colour pop, just because she needs to stand out.
