Every week CEAACC welcomes several Emotional Support Animals (ESA’s)- these pets play a key part in supporting their humans to feel comfortable and relaxed during therapy, and in many other activities.

Benji is a 3-year-old Cockapoo. He lives with his humans and cat sibling 🐱. Benji is an absolute bundle of fluff and love. He is sensitive to others’ emotional needs and will stay close by/ give cuddles when needed 🫂🐾

For fun, Benji loves to do the zoomies, play with other dogs, and socialise in general. He loves having his tummy rubbed! Benji enjoys treats (especially cheese 🧀), but equally is a good treat critique…. he’ll leave a treat if it’s not to his taste! 🤔

Bundles of cuteness have hatched at our house this week ❤️ - Isla.

'Take a Moment', is the captivating and reflective art exhibition we currently have exhibited at our centre by local artist Paul Jefford.

Paul's exhibition takes you as a viewer on a journey from sunrise to sunset to moonlit skies.... inviting you to: take a moment (moments that are so important to our wellbeing 💙)

Work Experience students get to:
💙Learn about counselling and different therapies (including creative)
💙Learn more about counselling, mental health, and psychology-based career routes/ pathways/ training.
💙Gain hands-on experience with children in therapeutic sessions.
💙Gain recognised training (certificates) in Safeguarding.

The weather can have such a huge affect on our mental health, especially when having such miserable weather all the time like we've had just recently. I went to check on my poor soggy veg patch this evening, yet more slug eaten leaves and plants rotting due to the ground being so wet for so long, but when I spotted my first sunflower had bloomed it really made my heart smile, just a glimpse of the summer, stay strong - the sun will eventually come! 🌞 - Isla.

Expressive art focuses on the art making process - and the meaning within for the creator💙

The choice of colours, mark making, materials, reflections, sensory interactions, time, and overall unfolding of the process can bring greater self-awareness, communication, and expression.

Expressive art is not about the product, and often the most powerful meanings come from the seemingly unremarkable.

However, whilst Expressive Art is not about an aesthetic product, often the beauty, and meaning of the process, comes through in the final piece.

Whiskey is a 1 year old Golden Retriever. He lives with his humans and 3 x bunny siblings. He loves the beach… and can often be mistaken for a seal or polar bear in the water! At home he loves digging in the garden, and playing with his toys- especially Mr Broccoli and Christmas Ducky.
Whiskey loves the CEAACC Art Room, and has even tried his paw at Expressive Art! He is very well behaved, and gives the best cuddles and hugs! Whiskey’s tail is always wagging, and when he leaves the Art Room he usually has a very glittery, sparkly nose too!

It's Children’s Art Week! 🎨👩‍🎨

Children’s Art Week is an annual event that celebrates and encourages creativity among children. Organised by Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, this initiative provides a variety of art-related activities, workshops, and events both in-person and online. It aims to inspire young artists, support their artistic development, and highlight the importance of arts education. Schools, galleries, museums, and community centres across the UK participate, making art accessible to all children.

Children’s Art Week will see thousands of children, their teachers and their families taking part in fun, creative activities at home and in schools. Venues of all types and sizes—from libraries to community halls, heritage venues and country parks, schools and of course museums and galleries across the UK—are hosting online and remote activities that will help children and young people to be inspired, engaged and entertained by art.

We're delighted to share that Laura Frear is now a Qualified Level 5 Counsellor and Integrative Therapist at CEAACC💙🎉

Laura's words:

"I started my counselling journey in 2020 and completed my training and qualified in 2024….and what a journey it has been. I have enjoyed every minute of it. I feel I have changed as a person and I love being there for others and helping people to express how they are feeling.

Within my training, I needed to attend a placement for practical training hours and was lucky enough to complete my training with CEAACC, a wonderful team and they have helped me gain experience and knowledge. I have worked with children, young people, adults and families. Counselling is a profession where you can be there for others, and it is so rewarding….no story is the same.

For me, becoming qualified took a little bit longer, however the team at CEAACC were there for me every step of the way.
Now I am qualified, my journey is just beginning💕"
