Everything is organic. What do you mean natural?

These are burning questions or very angry comments I use to hear or get at the market.

And you know what, I don't blame consumers because the suppliers/sellers have gone out of their way to make a mess out of things with some clever green washing, trendy, buzz word marketing🤦🏽‍♀️.

Here is what natural and organic is referring to. I will be referencing the beauty industry here.

👉🏽To be qualified or sell a beauty product as organic, the product must be designed with a larger percentage of organically produced and certified ingredients.

These ingredients are obtained from a controlled farming avoiding any GMOs, or pesticides.

Controlled also means focussing on a sustainable way of farming rather than over producing.

👉🏽A product is termed natural depending on the percentage of natural ingredients being used. The ingredients are not obtained from a strictly regulated controlled environment.

🌺Does that mean a product that is not certified organic is bad?

No. It depends on the company and at what financial stage the company is at.

Just like with the vegan logo, to get the organically certified logo a company needs to go through the certification which can be costly for certain businesses.

👉🏽This also doesn't mean that companies with all the "ethical" logo are the best option. I will always promote local businesses, local small farms who are trying to supply their community with the best products.

🌺If you want to work towards a more sustainable lifestyle have a look in your local area. There's bound to be a small business selling handmade beauty products, or some handmade yummy treats.

Some ingredients probably comes from their own self sufficient garden 🙃😉.

What do you guys think of the pink makeup look?

I absolutely love love love the SEY Glow. The fact that we attained this beautiful effortless look with only 5 makeup products is amazing.

My content creator and I were saying that the SEY Glow is a product that gives coverage but with it on it looks like it does.

That's because SEY Glow deflects light from dark spots at the same time giving your skin a natural glow.

For Menna from didn't apply foundation on the whole face, instead only used it around the lips to cover darker areas.

She used the SEY Glow instead.

To compliment the look we used Matico Studio jewellery set.

How lovely is this glow 🌟😍🌟.

With the formula for the foundation and SEY Glow I wanted to create a product that uses less ingredients but attain good results.

I am very happy with the outcome. But, coming up with a theory then designing a product is very different from actually testing out this theory.

I'm so happy that I finally got it right and thanks to Menna from Zae beauty UK , a very talented MUA, we were able to piece the puzzle together and work out simple ways that can help create seamless sophisticated look with minimum amount of products.

Rachel's skin looks flawless, has a beautiful glow, and doesn't look greasy.

The best part is that Rachel told us "the makeup felt really light and felt as if there was nothing on". That's a massive plus 👍🏼.

I am really enjoying this project which will showcase different people wearing SEY cosmetics. People of every age, ethnic background, and race.

For this project I was very specific about the makeup look.

I wanted to show that you can achieve a beautiful natural makeup look with limited amount of products.

How?
By using products that are designed to enhance your natural features and also designed to be used at limited amount to achieve beautiful results.

Hence using less which helps with:
🌺Preventing clogging pores, which can help with reducing or preventing breakouts.

🌺Preventing that feel of heavy makeup on the face. It feels light and fresh.

My strength has always been understanding the science of how things works. Being able to formulate and come up with chemical formulation that works.

I focus on designing products that does the job of three different makeup products such as the SEY Glow. My work is focused heavily on sustainable product development for sustainable living.

My weaknesses.
1. I'm not a makeup artist. Like a script writer who writes amazing film stories but cannot act, we find others who have that talent to bring our work to life.

That is why I work with Menna from Zae beauty UK , a very talented MUA.Faces are her canvas, my products her paint 🎨. With that she creates magic.

2. When you've been trained and a large part of your life has been based in a lab, everything becomes structured.

I love regulations, protocols and rules 🙈. Mainly that's because it prevents me from accidentally burning my skin off my toes again 😁. Story for another time hehehhehe.

That is why I have my content creator . I can give Sharon my ideas and she will turn it into a master piece instead of a boring "sciency" lecture.

Lastly collaborating with other brands that are doing amazing job. Mati from Matico Studio is such a beautiful soul and very humble. Please check her work to learn where the profit goes.

She doesn't only make jewellery but also stunning lampshades 🦋.

It's such a pleasure working with Menna from zaebeauty uk .

Menna is our MUA. This is a beautiful natural glamourous look. She used bright eyeshadow colours for the eyes, and a glossy moisturising n**e lipstick colour for the lips.

As the foundation formula is now ready we used it to give a flawless finish which looks like the client's skin tone.

To get a nice natural glow without using highlighter, Menna applied the SEY Glow crème first then the foundation.

As a base to prep the skin, Menna used the 3 in 1 Vitamin E cream. The cream acts as a primer, eye cream and moisturiser.

To complete the whole look we then used this beautiful jewellery set from Matico studio .

This look is sophisticated, glamourous, natural with a natural glow. It is perfect for anyone who likes a n**e makeup look. At the same time using some beautiful eyeshadow colours to brighten the face.

I am beyond happy that finally my message is being heard. Starting my business, I was advised to focus a lot on the trend that is vegan beauty products and not really environmental protection.

The issue with that is a) as someone who is vegan, portraying the movement as a fancy trend is offensive to the cause and b) environmental protection should be a topic that is focused on and not ignored.

It's very easy to use fancy marketing words to make profit or misuse words for marketing such as recycling, biodegradable, cruelty-free.

Unfortunately that only leads to confusion for the general public and cause more negative impact to the environment.

Sustainable product development for sustainable living is at the forefront, the core, the values that SEY cosmetics is build on.

I am beyond grateful for such articles and at the same time for people who has stood by me. All wonderful positive progress that has helped SEY cosmetics be finalised for Great British Entrepreneur Awards & Community for sustainable business of the year.

Hi everyone. If you've been following me for a while, you probably know by now my own skin issues. I have very dry skin that easily breaks out. It's been over a decade now since I've suffered from huge uncontrollable breakouts that caused really bad scarring.

Because I'm dark skin, each time my skin will heal it will leave these very dark spots that wouldn't fade. I am at a stage in my life now where I know how to control my breakouts, prevent really dark scars and also how to fade away the scars. Also note another important key ingredient to help heal your skin is patience. It's not going to happen over night but like in a lot of my customers, you can start seeing progress such as a more moisturised dewy looking skin after a week.

What do I mean when I "SEY" 😜 I focus on eco-sustainability. In today's video, I explain what sustainability is (especially for SEY cosmetics) and how I'm working towards that with SEY cosmetics 💚.

I often get comments such as "oh it's a recycling scheme/system". Nope, it's not. I do not focus on recycling instead I focus on a return and refill system.

Which means you can return your containers and I refill them.

🌺Recycling is the conversion of waste into new materials. Energy has to be used for that conversion. In a return and refill system, no energy is used as your containers are simply being reused🌺.
